Posts: 1 Hello Everyone, as just being recently diagnosed with IC, (well, about 6 months ago) I had no idea this support site was out there and was so glad that just by accident I decided to give goggle a try and see if something was out there for us poor souls with IC. I have to say, this has been one experience I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. I had the bladder surgery done back in February and so far, it's going pretty good. I am on Elmiron and Gabapentin. Although the pain isn't as bad since I've had the surgery, I still get flare ups and man oh man...giving up some of my favorite foods was really hard, but I have. Of course, there are moments when I do cheap and as always, pay for it. I was wondering with the rest of you if you've had any problems in the sexual department? Seems since I've gotten this, I haven't really been in the mood, plus the time my husband and I did have sex, wow that didn't feel good. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hello there and let me say officially :welcome: to the boards! You have found a great place for info, support - everything!! Lots of us have had difficulties with sex, I suggest you check out the Romance and Sex board, there is tons of information there, look for Sarojini's Sticky at the top of the page, entitled "Jen's Tips for Great IC Sex". Very helpful indeed!!! ;) Here's a link right to it:

HI and :welcome:

I was devastated when I heard I had to give up tomatos and wine! LOL But I'm surviving... :biglaugh: I have become a creative cook I suppose!

I'm glad you found us! There is a wealth of information here. Also, It's good to hear you are feeling better since your surgery.

Traceann gave you a great link on sex and IC. I've found taking a valium before I have sex w/ my husband helps to relax everything down there. I tend to flare really bad afterwards :( But there are other ways to be intimate! :)

Nice to meet ya! :)
