I am writing primarily because I am scared to death of this thing called IC. I have suffered for years with bacterial UTI's and on antibiotics for the better part of my life. Until recently the past year when they return and don't go away, visits to the doctor show no infection. I have researched and know my plan of action however I am waiting to see a urologist. The appointments for most were at leat 3 months out. I will be going the end of May. Mine at the moment is managable after changing my diet and stopping the antibiotics I felt better for awhile. I guess my question is; Is the percentage of IC cases higher on the severe side or mild? After having a flare (as they call it) I know my mild discomfort seems like nothing. Having so far to change only my diet and deal with some discomfort I am not complaining after the stories I have read. I can't even go back to them, it makes me feel worse. I have never been really sick ever and am finding I am not very good at it but am getting better. I am very gratful to this web-site for being informative and uplifting. :bunny:

Hello and welcome,
sounds like the diet helped some. I am unsure about the percentage but everyone is different the good thing is many find treatments that help them. A urologist should be able to help good luck with your appointment. I found keeping a journal of my symptoms pain level and frequency helped the urologist understand.
Good luck and welcome,
Kelly

Thank you for your response, I do keep a journal and write everything down in hopes it will help with the managment of this. Thanks again. What a great means of communication, just reading them helped me.
