Hello,

I will be moving to NJ soon and would appreciate any recommendations for a urologist in Northern NJ. I see that there is a female urologist in NJ. Has anyone seen her? Any other recommendations? Thanks so much to anyone who can help me. smile.gif smile.gif

There are several listed on this site for New Jersey. The doctors listed on this site have all been recommended by other IC patients.

Hi where is northern NJ are you moving.I live in northern NJ. Actually I was seeing a uro in NY. But then I was looking for someone in NJ.,alittle closer to home. I was recommended to a Dr. in Englewood. Someone answered my post and told me he was compassionate. So I went to see him just to get associated with him. He is very nice, and he works with IC patients. He also has a Pelvic Floor therapist he works with. Actually I spoke to her first, and she told me how nice he was. Pelvic Floor therapist are hard to find to. As far a female uro I could never find one here. The Drs name is Dr. Margolis in Englewood NJ. Email me if you'd like Jokule 27@aol.com. Hope this info helps, hope you are moving near me. smile.gif -JOJO

Hi,

Thanks Jojo for your recommendation. I possibly will live in Morristown, NJ. I'm not very acquainted with NJ, but once I move there I hope to know my way around. My husband's company will be transferring us there in a couple of months.

Donna, thank you for answering my message. Unfortunately I went to a doctor listed on this site and it was a terrible experience , so I would like to hear first-hand from others and their recommendations.

The site listed a Dr. Kathleen Murphy, a female urologist. Has anyone seen her?

Thanks Donna and Jojo for your responses. smile.gif

Hi and welcome to NJ. I've been to a few urologists in NJ but the one I like the best is Dr. Kenneth Ring, in Westfield. He's been wonderful. I also heard good things about that Dr. Margolis mentioned before, but never saw him. That's interesting that he has a PFD therapist, because that is very hard to find.

[Edited by ICNDonna to remove negative coment about a specific physician.]

Thank you Neugass for your reply. Fortunately I was able to read your reply before it was edited.

It is too bad that we cannot tell eachother what physicians that people have had bad experiences with. I did go to one listed on the board and had a bad experience (putting it mildly).

I feel that we should have the ability to have the name removed if there are complaints on a specific physician. I truly cannot imagine any other woman suffering having to go through the experience that I had with a particular physician. That is why we are here, to help eachother.

Okay, this is sounding like a vent so I better sign off. Thanks again, gt

If you have a complaint about a physician who is listed on the IC Network, there is a course you can take. Send an email to jill@sonic.net in which you describe your experience.

However, I'm sure you would not want to put the ICN at risk by posting anything that could be considered slanderous.

Hugs,
Donna

When I wanted to share negative information about a doctor on the IC list I posted my e-mail address and suggested that the person asking e-mail me privately and then I was able to let loose with both barrels, without putting the ICN at risk.

Where are you moving from? I used to work at MOrristown Memorial Hospital for many years before moving to PA, but that was before I needed urologists.

My mother (who also has IC) has seen Dr. Yitzhak Berger in West Orange, which isn't more than 1/2 hour from Morristown. She loves him and finds him to be very caring and compassionate, knowledgeable about IC, and takes his time with patients. I also know of two other people who see him and love him. I have even considering traveling from Boston to see him for a consultation!

When I did live in NJ, I saw Dr. Kathleen Murphy for several years. She is the only female in NJ that I know of. I'd be happy to give you more feedback if you'd like - please email me at debra.lefkowitz@tch.harvard.edu

Lots of luck!
Debra

Hi
Wow I never knew there was a female uro in NJ. I was seeing someone in NYC. I finally found someone in NJ. In fact he was highly recommended to me on the boards here. Dr. Margolis in Englewood ,NJ. He also works with a PFT,which are not that easy to find. I only saw him once just to establish myself with him. He treats alot of ICers. And I had spoke with the PFT,who was nice and told me how he refers patients to her and how they kind of work together. Good Luck-JOJO
p.s -Just out of curiosity where is this female uro located?
