Hello, I've been looking at posts and posting for about a week now but have not officially introduced myself. I was diagnosed March 10th. My symptoms were intermitant from December to mid February and acute since mid February. The "uti's" have been going on for 2 years as well other things like little pains, fatigue, waking up a lot at night to pee etc I had not connected to each other.

I'm 40 years old, live in Encino (Los Angeles), divorced no kids, and no family in town.
I am very happy to have found this community and want to say thank you to all the people here for their advice, encouragement, warmth and compassion. I've said thank you before in other posts but wanted to say it again. This illness can provoke very lonely and isolating feelings especially when you don't live with family and don't have them nearby. This community and it's caring members have really helped me start down the road of this unexpected journey.

Hi, Pernie. I think you were at chat the other night, right? Nice to have you aboard the Family. (Sounds like the Mafia.) Sorry to hear about the diagnosis but glad you found the board so soon after diagnosis. Hopefully it will help you get things under control soon.

My best to you!

Thanks ISO! Yes I was on chat the other night and I really enjoyed it. I really like the live chat. One of the girls mentioned a place where you can chat all the time but I didn't catch the address. I tried serching for it but couldn't find it. Any idea how to find it?

Hmm. I don't know about that. Hopefully, someone who does will see this question and let you (and me!) know.

Hi Pernie, I'm also very glad to see you've found these boards. I am in a similar situation as you...I'm also 40, and moved to a new area of the country late last summer, my IC symptoms got real bad around that time, and I was diagnosed in December. I, too, have no family or friends close by, and I know how lonely that is. Feel free to PM me anytime! I was on the live chat the other night too....I wrote down the other live chat site, but haven't been there yet.....this is what I wrote down....msn.com/TheICNers/home. Hope it's right! I'm gonna check it out soon!

Hi Pernie and :welcome: to the ICN. Glad you decided to join our family. I was just diagnosed in late December, so I consider myself still a newbie. This site has helped me with so many things. Have you checked out the patient handbook? There is a link at the top of the page. You will find alot of useful information there. Sorry about the diagnosis  , but so glad you found us! :)

So, I see you were on the chat line the other night. I haven't even joined in on one yet. Not sure how to do it. I wrote down the address of the other one though and will give it a try.

Just wanted to say :hi: and :welcome: to the board. I don't think we've met yet, but I look forward to getting to know you. I know you'll find a bunch of wonderful and kind people on this board, and you'll learn more than you ever wanted to know about the urinary tract as well :biglaugh:

Hugs, Sandy
