I'd like to try the tens unit for ic. My question is where do you buy them without a perscription and are they portable? Also where do you place the electrodes and how do you know how high to adjust them. Thanks.

Pat, you can buy a TENS unit online. However, without a prescription, your insurance probably won't pay for it. They run about $150.00. Most are about the size of a pack of cigarettes, and you can clip it to your belt or pants. As for electrode placement, for IC, I don't know. I have a TENS and Electrostim both for another reason, I have chronic neck pain. Regarding how high you adjust them, it's whatever you can tolerate.
Hope this helps!
