The Patient Handbook (link at the top of this page) is a good source for finding out about the various medications and treatments.

PW, Enablex is a new one. I think it is supposed to work like Detrol and ditropan. It's mentioned in remedy find, but has only one review.

You can poke around remedyfind and read up on depression medications too. The Topamax is listed in several places, including weight loss -- there are a lot of cautionary tales there about it, so make sure you read all the Topamax reviews.

You will see the meds I take currently for each of my conditons in my signature. I have also tried Elavil, (gained too much weight, and had no symptom improvement) and I have tried many differant anti-inflammatories. I tried almost all of these at one point or another for pain control and inflammation, but felt no improvement or only minimal improvement with most of them, pain-wise. I am currently taking Volteran, (aka Diclofenic) for an anti-inflammatory. I have also done the DMSOs, and still get an occasional "booster DMSO". I also get rescue instills done when I am flaring. I have also tried Skelaxin for a muscle relaxor. (didnt help much.) Now I am on Zanaflex for that. It helps alot. I also drink almond milk, follow the IC diet, and use Prelief. The only other one I have tried, (that I remember), is Ditropan XL, but I gave it up b/c it worsened my IBS, (made me terribly constipated and also gave me a bothersome dry mouth. So I now take Vesicare instead. All my other meds are listed below. Hope this helps you. Dr. Robert Mouldwin's book "A Survival Guide to Interstitsal Cystitis" has a very valuable section regarding IC meds. His book was an invaluable source of information to me when I was newly diagnosed. I found it to be an extremely valuable tool to take with me to my Dr. when I wanted to try something new. I found it easer to persuade my dr to let me try something, when he saw that it was a generally accepted treatment used by experts in the treatment of other ICers. Hope this helps you! Hugs, Amy
