I am going to be in OKC April 9 through the 13.......or so. Do you guys have an in-person support group? Would anyone like to get together while I am there? Who IS there! :-)

I Guess You Can Tell From The Overwhelming Response That There's Not Much Physical Support Here In Okc. From What I've Gathered, There Used To Be Meetings At The Ou Medical Center But, For Whatever Reason, They're Not Held Anymore. The Phone Number I Have For The Leader Isn't Any Good. So ...... That Leaves Just Me!! I Don't Live In Okc, But Rather In Moore (aka Tornado Alley), Which Is Just Outside Okc City Limits.
You Are More Than Welcome To Holler At Me When You're In Town If You Like.

I use to live in OKC, but moved back to the UK 3 years ago. You are right there was a big support group held in OKC. First we meet in a restaurant and then it was held at the OU hospital. It was first run by a lady called Jean Brookshire and then by Nedra (don't know her surname). Dr Culkin's (urologist) nurse used to run yoga classes for IC patients too and her name was Linday Kelsey. She has now left Dr Culkin and from what I can gather the meetings kind of stopped then. I used to be in touch with Nedra, but the last year I haven't heard a thing from her or Linda too.

I am in Oklahoma City this past winter when I was dx I found Nedra's information and was told there was no longer a support group and no plans to start one up again. She stated that when the nurse left they, of course, could no longer have the meetings at OU Health Sciences.

But we could still have a support group! We could meet at a restaurant or a church, etc. I am a newby to IC but am a past president of another health related support group.

What do you all think? Is it something we could do?
