Also, are you taking a generic brand or the original brand?

I'm taking generic from Ivax Pharmaceuticals. With my insurance, it is costing me $5.00/month.

Thanks, Kathleen. I found out today that generic would cost me $7 per month, and brand-name would cost me $50. At the same time, Elmiron, which is still under patent, would cost me $25. *********
I have not had to think about what drug to take based on cost before, but since my IC diagnosis and increase in pain problems, I might be looking at $100-$200 per month, depending on what I take.

I hope others will contribute their info for others to see too.

Wendy, having tried Elmiron both orally and intavesically w/o success, I may be biased. But, I'm thinking that if you tired the generic misoprostol you should know within 3 months if it will help. Elmiron may take 6-12 months. But you have to go with what feels right for you.

My copay was 10.00 for 100 100 mcgs. pills (generic misoprostol), but next time I am asking for the 200 mcgs for one month that would be 90 pills (3 pills/day X 30), I guess would be $10 also. Cheaper than trying Noni juice. Didn't that Norman Smith wife take it 9 months before it worked, but the study was only 3 months?

If you want to figure how long you have been taking it do you start when you first started taking it or when you have reached the highest dosage you are going to take? (600 mcgs is the study but for nsaid protection peolple actually take 800 mcgs and they can take it 400 2x day if it suits them better) I just started on the 600 mcgs dosage 3/18, but was taking it since Feb 28th. I still get some digestive bloating but it is tolerable. My bladder has not flared the last few days, but that can be normal for me for a stretch. I'm looking for true pain/frequency reduction and true capacity increase before I'm saying anything is working. PeeVee

I am having a flare so I am pretty upset. Anyone really feel they are making progress?
