I'm so glad to see this section devoted to Cytotec. Perfect timing, I just got a prescription from my doc yesterday. My one fear with being on it was the possibility of stomach upset and diarrhea. I'm already having problems with that area (IBS perhaps) and don't want to upset the boat. But with the IC going into a major flare, after reading the possible benefits of Cytotec, I decided to give it a try.

Already though, I'm not feeling very great. I only started with 50mg 3x daily to ease into it. What are others using to help with the cramps and diarrhea if they have it?

Many thanks, hoping this will work, cbleigh

Hi, I have been on cytoter now for 39 days and my stomace stills feels funny . I eat popcorn and drink Ginger root tea. They sometimes help. I don`t get diarrhea though.

Sorry I answered this question on another thread. I`ll answer again. My bladder pain is gone but I still sometimes have urethral pain. I also have frequency. Ijust started takeing cymbalta and veslcare for frequency. alltogether they seem to help. I have sever IC so it takes longer for meds to help me.

I sometimes feel stomach cramps from the misoprostol, especially if I eat too greasy or rough food. In the beginning I ate alot of white rice and bananas (IC can tolerate that for me). I took some enteric coated peppermint pills and chamomile tea.

Keeping my fingers crossed for everyone. I'm sorry for those who are having stomach troubles. I think that part of what helps is making sure you eat a full meal before taking each pill. Also one poster said she munched all through the day to keep her stomach full constantly, and that helped too. Most of what I've heard says this side effect stops within a couple of weeks for most people, so it's mostly just a matter of getting to the other side of it.

Blessings, and good luck,
Lori
