Anybody ever heard of or tried something called Noni juice? (I am not sure if that is the way it is spelled.) A couple of people have told me about this.(non-icers) and they have sworn that it has cured their friend/aunt/mother/cousin or whoever that has IC. Since I have never seen anything on this board about it, I didnt know if it was just another one of those "cure-all scams" or if it was a legit alternative therpy. I posted over here on the remission board, because all of these people suppossedly went on remission on it. But of course, none of these people who ever told me about this was ever able to supply me with an actual name and phone number of the the "cured" person so I could verify anything. So I was just curious, is this another scam thing, or are any of you that are in remission in it because of this?

I've heard it has anti-inflammatory properties like many other alternatives but I knew anything with "juice" in the title would never work for me so didn't try it.

I have also heard of it. The person who told me about it said it cured her IC. I didn`t try it , maybe now I will . I will let everyone know.

Just remember that if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. There are many things that will help control the symptoms of IC and some people do have remissions that can last for several years, but so far there is no cure for IC.

Noni Juice is made of Tahitian Noni International (Morinda) Citrifolia plant. There are many sites in the web that sell this product.
I've also heard it advertised on TV in the latin channel as a "cure everything" juice. It is supposed to have poweful health properties.
I haven't tried and I don't know if I would (chicken me)
I'll be checking this threat to see if any of us has tried it...

Noni is a plant that is typically grown in the tropics. It is all over Hawaii. It has been used as a healing agent by the Hawaiians for years. My in-laws use it all the time for their grandson for scrapes, burns, etc. I used it over there when I was a little sunburned and I have to admit that it was wonderful.
I am not sure about using it to treat IC, but I wouldnt be suprised if it does help some. It won't harm you ,so I wouldnt worry about that. Anyone who does use it, let us know!
Love Sarah

Wow, that's so weird! I was just at Universal Citywalk last weekend (So. Calif.) and there were TONS of people walking around with these Tahitian Noni bags, shirts, etc. If I had any idea, I'd have asked them what it was all about. I'm sure it was a conference or something.
But, like Donna says,(and I know as a nurse), if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. If someone does decide to buy it, and use it faithfully, please post something.

I am just not sure about it. I am too chicken to try it too! But, I would love to hear about results if anybody does or has tried it. However, I dont want to encourage anybody to try it. I would feel horrible if someone did, and they had a major flare b/c of it. Thanks to all who posted their thoughts.

Well of course I ran out and bought some today. I was at the health food store, already checking out, when I remembered I'd intended to look for it. There was only one kind that came in a smaller bottle, and when I had already bought it, I saw that it had blueberry, raspberry, grape, and pear juice in it.
I had bought some Trinity bottled water to try, also having seen it mentioned here.
I got "Tahitian Trader" brand, and the serving size is one ounce. I put about 1.5-2 oz. in a glass of Trinity water and drank it about 15 minutes ago. It tastes OK.
I have been flaring mildly yesterday and today, but I will try to watch for a wprsening. How much time should I give it?

Coincidentally, I just had my first glass of Noni a few days ago. It tasted delicious. It is painfully expensive, so I don't know if it can help or not. It didn't hurt. I have known about it for a while, but price deterred me from buying it.

I have tried it in the past. It was my mother's idea. I do not remember how often I took it, but I do not remember any improvement.
