KY w/ Lidocaine

I have read on this site where some of you use this KY w/ Lidocaine for cath comfort. Where do you get yours? My Dr is happy to give it to me but we are having trouble finding it. Do you have a compounding pharm make it for you?

When I used the cream for my cath's my uro's office gave it to me also (lidocaine jelly) You may have to go to one of those little pharm to see if they have it if not order it for you. Ask the pharm he may have a sub. you can try instead of lidocaine cream.

I'm not even sure but doesn't this have to have an RX for it?
I use marcaine but that goes into my treatments so I'm unsure. After I changed caths. I no longer need nothing to numb me in that area.

my compounding pharm said they would have to make it. I really thought that I could get it pre-mixed. I have an rx for it. I just need to get it filled. I have been doing the rescue trmts for 2 yrs now. Life saver for me but cathing can be so painful. Esp if I am really flared up. I was also thinking on the days my urethra was irritated, I could put some on it.

Can't you get ky over the counter . I get the lidocaine from my uro in a script.

Sure did just asked my internist to write it for me and with a little help. We got it. You want 2% Lidocaine jelly comes in 30cc bottle. I have seen bigger tubes like the size of KY lube tubes. I got the 30cc - will probably ask for more volume later.

What I am reallly looking for are the 20cc urojects with Lidocaine fillled in them/ I got them from U of M and instilled those before my 6 DMSO treatments. I highly recommend this type of Lidocaine for the DMSO insitlls.

For Marcaine instills I just dab the catheter in the jelly before I cath. First time tonight in a long time. Sure was glad I had the 12fr cath. I am not going to use the 14 fr cath they gave me and they are too long.
