Well to make a long story short, I went to see a neurologist for muscle soreness and tingling sensations, well he did and exam and said I have Gillian Barrett Syndrom, I then went to another neurologist for a second opinion, and he told me right in the office that I have MS, talk about a blow to the stomache, my husband if furious because he said that is so unprofessional, to give someone that diagnosis without doing blood work and an MRI, even if the doctor was pretty sure of the diagnosis, you dont tell someone that without having the proof to back it up, I dont go for my MRI until the end of this month. I have been doing some research on fibromyalgia, and I would swear that is what I have, my husband seems to think so too, fibro is also very common in people who have IC, I have read on these boards that alot of you have fibro. My husband did some exams on me, and cant find a thing neurologic wrong with me, my husband is a chiropractor and pretty well educated, he suspected that one of my friends had MS when she came into his office to work on her, she showed alot of the classic MS symptoms, and low and behold she has MS. I know I am all over the place here, I am sorry, but I am just beside myself, I was wondering if any of you have any advice for me, I think I value your opinions more than any doctor. If any one of you reading this has MS, or fibro, could you please pm me, since I am in desperate need for answers. Thanks for your time, Tanya

Get another opinion and fast before this doctor has you taking meds and a diagnosis you dont need or want. Fibro can mimic EVERY symptom of MS, both my husband and myself have severe fibro (he got it first though, I got it after I got IC and Graves Disease). His neurologist did all the testing..all came back fine..then sent him to rhumo who diagnosed Fibro - took forever though because back then (about 11 years ago) fibro was unheard of and was "new" to the market so to speak.

MRI is a must for diagnosis of MS - its a process of elimination but its the first thing they do to check for lesions on your brain.

Run from that doctor and how...sounds like a nut :loco:

The advice Bella gave you in previous post was great! Get another opinion remember 50% of all physicians graduated at the bottom half of their class.
An MD does not mean he was the sharpest pencil in the box. If it was me I would head to Mayo and get a consult with a leading physician in the field. It would be worth the money.
Good luck,
