Hi everyone,
I just had my first cystoscopy, I didnt think it was going to hurt that bad! I had it done in office, at my visit (not knowing i was going in for that, it was going to be my next visit but my uro. had a cancle) But anyhow...I did go to work today for a half day, because the other person that i work with had a surg. on Monday. My Dr. said that I would bleed a little, but how much it too much? their office closed early today, will call in the morning if i'm still bleeding this much. Yesterday their was a little blood and today it's a lot every time that i go it's really dark and thier are a few clots. how long does it last?

You poor thing! Your post took me back to when I had the cystoscopy. From what I remember I only was bleeding for the first 24 hours. I also had clots the first day. Then it went away. I would call your Dr asap if it does not slow down. I hope you have pain meds and the pain gets better soon. Good luck!

Hi, I had my first cystoscopy done in the uro's office at my first visit (late November '05). I don't remember any bleeding afterwards. I've only had the one so I'm not sure if what you are experiencing is normal. Hopefully someone here can shed some light on your situation.

This was an in-office cysto? That is a lot of blood for an in office cysto. I would call the doctor if I were you.

i just talked to the on call doctor, he said it's normal but if it is still this bad in the morning to call the office.

I'm doing better today, the bleeding has almost stoped and it doesnt hurt as much now. I took the day off of work i figured that i should take it easy. Thanks to everyone who got back to me.

I am glad you are feeling better. I had a cysto for the first time last month & I had no bleeding. If it hasn't totally stopped, I would call the uro back.
