Well,
I just got diagnosed with Fibro yesterday and had to have a battery of blood work done today. I came home to an email from my uncle and it said "so sorry you are still messing around with doctors." I was so hurt and irritated at that email." I just got off the phone with my mom and even she still lacks the unconditional positive regard and support. I just want support. I don't necessarily want people to know what the disease is or offer my advice. I just want unconditional support from my family and I don't feel like I get it from them. I am crying here. Help.

Hi Nicole,
I am so sorry you are going through this. Sometimes when people do not understand what is going on they do not know how to support you. I learned from here to print up some info and let them read it alot of times it helps. It's a terrible thing when people turn their head, most of the friends i had did the same thing. Just remind yourself what it says in your signiture " you are not alone ". If you ever want to vent or just talk please PM me.
Sending you lots of hugs & tons of support,
Tracey :)

Nicole - even tho they try and understand, friends and family can't comprehend what it's like to have IC and struggle with it every day. They just expect you to take some pill or go to some doctor and get well, like you've got a cold or something. There are times I just tell them I'm ok, because I don't want to complain or try to explain any more. I've found support here on the message boards from people who DO understand and will try to help guide you in your IC journey. If you've got a question about a med or if you're suffering from a symptom that has you perplexed, there's always someone willing to give their input or just listen.

Sometimes family members just don't know what to say, but they do care.
Warm hugs,

I know your pain!
I love my family, but other than my husband, no one is able to be 100% supportive. last time i talked to my mom, I got off the phone and bawled! I think she reacts out of lack of knowledge.
dont we all sometimes! Just know you never walk alone! someone, somewhere, is going through it...what a blessing these boards are.

Thanks so much for the empathy and kind words. You don't know how much it means to me. It brings a bit smile to my face. :) :) :) :)
Somehow I wish we could all meet each other!!
I am here for you, too!
Thanks again
