Does anyone else take Imipramine and how has it affected you?
I tooke Nurotin(sp) for several months last year and it had no effect on me other than giving me diareah. Last appoointment I had my Dr. suggested I take Imipramine, something to do with nerve sensors I think, he is never very clear as to why he gives me meds. All I know is he won't give me pain meds because his wife has IC and she manages without any pain medication. :woohoo: for her. I'm feeling a little bitter. Anyway has this helped anyone?
He also told me I have vulvar vestibulits and sent me home with some type of cream but didn't tell me what it was for or what I am supposed to do with it. Any ideas?

Hi there,

I have been taking Imipramine for 4 years....I sleep through the night and it has helped immensely!! I have put on 10 pounds, but I am also pushing 40 so I think that has something to do with it too!!! I noticed a big improvement in my symptoms after 2 weeks.

Good luck to you,

I took imipramine 2 years ago before I got pregnant (still nursing so can't start yet) anyway, I was on it for 1 year, I did not gain any weight and absolutely loved the drug. it is great

I took imipramine for two years before I discovered it was making my IC and vulvar vestibulitis worse  I felt better after I stopped it.

I know there are some creams out there for vestibulitis, but I haven't tried any personally.

I'd be a little hesitant about a dr. who doesn't prescribe pain killers just because his wife does not take them. Each case of IC is so individualized.

Take care and God bless,
I'll keep you in my prayers,
July

I'd be a little hesitant of a Dr. who isn't clear and won't tell you what your taking the meds for. You might want to reconsider this Doc. Good luck sweetie.
