Yep, so my big box of Girl Scout cookies came yesterday. My favorites are the Tagalongs and the Thin mints. I'm guessing those wouldn't be a wise decision to eat.
***sigh***
Torcher!! :toilet:
Has anyone survived one? lol

I know what a bummer. I have put my Tagalongs in the freezer and one day I am going to have one. I will suffer the consequences. I have low blood sugar and I was just at the mall, had to pick something up, well, I thought I was going to faint right there, didn't have anything in my purse and thought about those Tangalongs. Oh well, came home instead and popped some white choc. in mouth and now I am good again. Whooo

I do love girl scout cookies! I usually buy a TON of them and hide a couple of boxes for muah!! I guess there will just be more for the DH and kids this year.....unless I'm feeling particularly brave/stupid and try one. lol

I was actually very good this year, only bought 2 boxes, (one was lemon -didn't have any problem with them) and the other was shortbread).
I usually buy a lot - but my husband found out recently that he is diabetic and now he can't have any so I try not to buy tempting goodies and get in front of him.

I have missed out on Girl Scout cookies the last few years! Earlier today I went online to see if I could order them. I found a local troop through the main Girl Scout site. I went to their homepage and they stopped taking cookie orders yesterday! I LOVE thin mints and the ones with peanut butter and chocolate! It's probably a good thing I haven't gotten them. So bad for the waistline and I struggle with that enough anyway!
I do OK with chocolate. For those who don't, you might try taking some Prelief and just eating one or even a half one. Just enough for a heavenly taste... Nothing like Girl Scout cookies!

They have a new cookie out, very mild sort of like shortbread, but with a touch of cinnemon, excellent. I ate 2 and didnt flare from it.

Thin mints used to be my weakness. If I ate one, I ate the whole box! I'm not exagerating one single bit either! It's best if I just turn off the lights & pretend I'm not home when the Girl Scout's come ringing the doorbell.

Thin mints weren't a good idea for me. I only ate four of them but it was a mistake.

LOL Karma!!!!!!
Tiffany, I keep looking at the thin mints and talking myself OUT of eating them! I wish someone in my house would just eat them ALL so I don't have to look at them everyday. I'd hate to throw them away!! lol

I have a DH and 3 growing boys. Alas my cookies are gone. We should just pray to be in remission at cookie time next year.

Amen Sister!
Dear Bladder,
I demand FULL remission in time for Girl Scout Cookies next year, it is imperative that I support this fundraiser and eat cookies.
Sincerely,
Kara
Bwa ha haha ha! :biglaugh: Now if my bladder would just listen!! Sheesh...I might as well of ate a box the way I'm flaring today! :( I made a pea salad, that I THOUGHT was pretty IC friendly, guess not. Down the garbage disposal it goes.....and up comes my bad attitude! lol
A couple other threads here are making me crave white hot chocolate and pizza. *sigh*

LOL. If you only knew... in a past life I was a Director of Sales for a Girl Scout Council and was responsible for overseeing almost a million dollars worth of cookie sales. In any case, I have to confess that seeing it from the inside out, I was very disillusioned.
Instead of buying cookies, I give the girls selling the boxes a direct dollar donation which they can give to their troop to underwrite troop activities. That's more than twice what they get from each box they sell... and that way I don't get tempted to eat a whole box of shortbreads. Cause, honestly, it's almost impossible to stop eating at just one or two. They are GOOD cookies! Yummm!
(Sorry.... I didn't wish to be a downer here.... but let's just say that they weren't very compassionate about my IC which led to a five year lawsuit).

Jill,
LOL Now you have given us additional reason to abstain from the alleged flare cookies and donate directly to the troop! That is a great idea. My sons are in boy scouts and they sell expensive popcorn and mulch, very little of the profits actually make their way to the troops!
I work as a venture capitalist, so I've just about seen it all in business.....nothing would surprise me at this point. :hmm:
I hope you won the lawsuit!!!!! A few of those corporate types are something else. lol

I KNOW!!! I'm going the natural route & am in remission...I've been eating them slowly which is REALLY hard but, it's working, I find that I can't have anything chocolate after like 2 or 3pm otherwise I'm wound up!! I drink soy protein 3 times a day though so that helps balance my hormones & gives me energy!!
I love the tagalongs, do si dos, those chocolate chip ones they had years ago...lord I better make myself some dinner before I dig into them now!!! LOL!!
