Can someone please help me with these symptoms? Any ideas? I was diagnosed with endometriosis about 14 months ago and IC about 3 months ago. Since this past August, I have been "accumulating" symptoms that I recently realized are all on the right side of my body. They began in the following order: 1) right hip pain...in the beginning (August) was quite bad but now just annoying and comes and goes...when I lie on my right side it feels like a bruise on my hip 2) My right arm and right hand began "shaking" or "twitching" in October. It also can come and go but over time has become more consistent..really annoying when trying to write or put on makeup. 3) my right leg and foot fall asleep when I walk for exercise...I used to walk up to 5 miles a day. Now my leg falls asleep practically on cue after about a mile and a half of walking. Does anyone have any ideas????

Please get yourself to your doctor and tell him about the symptoms you are having. It's sounding like you need some testing to identify your problem/s. Please don't delay. My suggestion is to call today and make an appointment.

Have you had your thyroid checked? It sound like the same problems that I had but mine were all on the left side and now the left side of my neck is sore and feels swollen (inside). Have you also been experiencing numbness, cold hands/feet, dry eyes and mouth, feeling cold and more tired? I too had hip pain on my left side and foud out I had ovarian cysts. I was Dx w/IC about 1 1/2 years ago by my GYN w/out any blood work or test for IC. I am seeing a new OB/GYN and she is testing for hypothyroid/throiditis and thinks maybe the cysts and IC are actually problems from thyroid issues. I started feeling the way you do about 4 months ago and it wasn't until the pain on my side became so bad that I went to the MD. Please don't wait and call your MD>

I'd call your family doctor and find out what it is - sounds like it could be a pinched nerve(s). You didnt' mention if you're on any medications or not - but I can tell you from experience that elavil and other meds I've been on, over time (like 2-3 months) caused me to have muscular vesiculations.

Definately get to a physician, you didnt say how old you were, but there are a lot of things minor to major that could be causing your symptoms. The writing and make up problems sound neurological.

Thanks for the advice...I know it's not ovarian cysts (I assume anyway) since I just had a laparascopic surgery a year ago where my OBGYN looked at all that. I finally had x-rays done of my lower spine about a week and a half ago. I got the "results" over the phone from the nurse but I do go to my doc tomorrow. The nurse said there were no major problems but some arthritic symptoms. So I have a feeling an MRI is coming. Not to mention I've developed other symptoms...my right hand and arm is falling asleep at random times...once it even turned darker than the other one. Actually, the first time, it was my LEFT hand that turned darker (but didn't fall asleep). The right hand has fallen asleep three times since the first incident with the left hand. Anyway, I haven't talked to my doc about all this so I am anxious to go tomorrow. I hope to post an update soon after as I know other people out there somewhere are having the same type of problems as me. That's why I love this forum! :grouphug:

Very interesting. I had the same thing with my left side of my body, hip, thigh, arm and even in my wrist. I would wake up in during the night and my arm would be asleep. This was before I found out I had IC. Mine is almost gone now that I have had my medicine adjusted. I would be interested in knowing what is the cause of your symptoms. Keep us updated and good luck!

Perhaps it is your thyroid? I had arithtic pains in my hands and numbness in my feet. At night I would awaken and have feelings of pins and needles in my hands. I also noticed that the back of my hands and feet looked swollen with edema and the veins and tendons were not showing. This was when first waking up. I also started to drop things. I started to ask why were all my nerves on fire? I was having trouble holding a pen to write my name and hold on to the steering wheel driving my car. I had no grip.

I also had trouble walking and sometimes I would lose feeling in my feet and fall suddenly to the ground. I felt so embarassed when this happened. I finally learned what all this was caused by. From the time I was a child I thought that I would be told I had MS. I used to go to MS meetings because at that time I felt close to them with similar nerve problems. They did a spinal tap and the results showed a problem that I had too much protein in my spinal fluid. I was kinda happy they found something wrong finally, because they always told my husband and family that It was all a mental problem. Don't believe them they are wrong and ignorant to tell patients that. I finallly found out that I had the disease of hypothyroidism and this is very common disease. I also found out that several other family members also had the disease of hypothyroidism and 4 of them have bladder symptoms. We are participating in the study at the U of Maryland, called the Magic study in hopes that they can find a gene or genes in our DNA.

Hope your Dr. figures out what it is causing your symptoms. Please share what they find out is causing you these symptoms.

Hello all,
I haven't been on in a couple of months, i couldn't find where to post a new thread, only a reply and i know i've found it b4, anyway i'm sorry i haven't been able to help anyone, i just haven't found anything that has helped me to talk about! I've been on Elmiron 2 months now, i have seen no difference with frequency/urgency and i know i need to give it more time, but i would like to start school back in May and i don't have that much time! I doubt the Elmiron has caused it but i have been having pain now that i've never had b4 it comes and goes, sharp pains thru my vagina, side, and abdomen, when it comes it really hurts!!! Does anyone with IC have this or does anyone know if it's normal to have this kind of pain with IC??? I can't afford to go back to the doctor right now, especially if all he's gonna say is that's normal for an IC patient! 2nd question does anyone know if my uro will give me the elmiron instills with me taking Elmiron orally for only 2 months and is it a good indication that if i take the Elmiron orally and the Elmiron instills that maybe it won't take sooooooo long to work??? 3rd question Does anyone think it helps to hold the water in the bladder for awhile when taking Elmiron, cause whenever i drink something in 30 seconds i have to urinate, Does it matter if i urinate 30 seconds afterwards or not? Last question I have been thinking about getting my tubes tyed, Does anyone know if it will affect my condition or possibly make it better lol, which i doubt???
Sorry so many questions, maybe 1 day i will find something that will help me
and i will let yaw know, wambagirl27

Hi. If you go back to the main message board you are looking at (i.e. Other Related Conditions), there should be a place at the top that says "new thread" or something like that. I would post a new thread as people are more likely to respond to your specific question (sorry...I read your post but don't really have any advice except I know some people do "train" their bladder so you could try holding it awhile...just not too long.).

So, I went to the doctor today and he said there was some inflammation (the athritic signs the nurse told me about) but minor, and I also had a slight curvature to my spine (sculiosis...I don't know how to spell it) but that is very common. So now I'm being scheduled for an MRI. I am getting so impatient! Well I guess this doesn't provide many answers except for what it's NOT...I will keep you all posted. :headbang:
