flare getting worse

So I have been in a flare after an infection and a yeast tablet- the bladder had calmed down a bit although capacity was low and urethral spasms all day long. Well had a migraine tablets last night and am back to square 1. Not even pyrdium is helping the spasms today - taken one extra ditropan tablet too.
This is the worst flare I have had and it's not going away. If anything I was better in August and now getting worse as food and medication is beginning to flare me up!
any advice??? Taken baking soda and started elmiron too (maybe this will work quicker as I have had a whole course of cystistat too(like heparin)

I am sorry hun you are in my thoughts and prayers. I know how you feel been feeling the same way too. are you sure your infection is still brewing. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

To be sure, i will hand in a sample on Monday - the flare died down mid week so am thinking it is a flare.
Have just spent the last few hours with a heating pad and it has helped temporarily!

This flare is still not letting up. I have had symptoms since January but they thought it was a UTI so had antibiotics, then it came back and went on antibiotics again. The symptoms were gone whilst on antibiotics but now two weeks later and all of these two weeks I have had a constant need to go to the loo. Have never had this constant feeling before and my urethra is just throb throb throb. A heat pad has really helped with the spasms and bicarb with the burning.

Am just so depressed though as I can't see it improving at all this time...I've never been in such a long flare and it seems now foods are making it even worse as well (never been sensitive untill now)

Flares can take awhile to clear up after an infection... You should be careful taking any extra medication without talking to your Dr. A medication like Ditropan taking an extra one could cause urinary retention which can also be very painful and a possible trip to the ER for a catheter if you can't get going again.

Get your urine checked again to make sure the infection has cleared up and then just do all the things that help with a flare... get plenty to drink(water), eat IC good foods, heat etc....

:help: Have had a urine check and it is clear
The urethral discomfort and urgency does not let up at all!!
Using lidocaine gel and symptoms are worse after I urinate and calm down the longer I hold on (not long!)
I really don't know what to do - am on doxycycline incase it is a urethral infection as the area is now really sore and I think it is now inflamed.
Taking NSAIDs and pyridium

I feel my symptoms are now worse than last week and not been able to work or leave the house all week.

The only new thing I have added is Elmiron but it can't be that!
