I take back what I said about the urgency and incontinence improving! I went out tonight and had to run to the washroom when I got home. I also feel constantly wet even though I change my pads very frequently.
I feel terrible these days. I'm sure the antibiotics and hydrocortisone are giving me yeast problems which only makes my frequency worse.
So sick of this :cussing:

I get so sick of it too! hang in there plainJane. It will get better. I would look into taking some diflucan or something for the yeast. That will absolutely get me everytime. I was tested for mold allergies and am allergic to candida, so it is so hard when I have a yeast problem. What are you using the hydrocortisone for? Isn't that a cream?

Hi,
I am thinking maybe I should ask my doctor for some diflucan. However, he's away for the next three weeks. Maybe I'll ask when he gets back. I am taking probiotics five times/day (Brand 'threelac').
The hydorcortisone is for my cortisol levels which are very low. It is available as a topical cream however I am taking oral tablets (10 mgs in the morning and 5 mgs in the evening). I haven't noticed any improvement with it and I've been on it 9 days. Maybe it is still early yet.

Nearly all doctors will have someone "on call" for them when they are away. I think you really need medical attention sooner than his return. If you do have a yeast infection, you most definitely need attention with the medications you are taking.

I agree don't let a yeast infection go, it can get pretty bad and with amount of antibiotics you just went through could become serious. There are many over the counter meds but they are topical, diflucan is a whole system med.
If there is no doctor on call, maybe you should try a walk-in clinic, 3 weeks is a long time to suffer with this. I wonder, if Dr Toth ordered the antibiotics, and the side effect could be from them, couldn't he call in diflucan, if not in your area maybe a website one that could work with both of you! Just a thought!
I'm sorry you are not feeling better, :grouphug: Hope you get some help soon!

I emailed Dr.Toth and asked him if he could prescribe Diflucan. I would drive to Buffalo to get it filled.
Thanks for your posts :)

Erica - You shouldn't have to wait three weeks for treatment - even going to an emergicare facility would be better than nothing. Your doc should have someone on call while he's gone.
I also seem to be having an ongoing problem with yeast that started with a two month course for a sinus infection five months ago. What was odd was I didn't have the typical symptoms, and it was only caught when I went in to see a gyno who specializes in PFD about a month ago. He treated me with a course of Diflucan 1 pill every four days (four total pills) and it seemed to help the severe urethral burning like peeing razor blades. THEN I get a UTI and my uro prescribes Macrobid, which in turn causes more yeast, which then I have to take more Diflucan because it feels like yeast again. It's caused a vicious cycle, and I'm wondering if it's a kind of yeast that doesn't completely go away with Diflucan.
Hang in there. You will feel better!

Stephanie,
Thanks for your post. I actually emailed Dr.Toth about the Diflucan and he mailed the prescription. I'm in Canada so I'll have to drive to Buffalo to get it filled but it's worth it.
