Hoping is correct. I just had #40 last week --- this has been over a period of 31 years. My bladder capacity is a little better than at the very beginning, but basically hasn't changed. I think if hydros were going to cause me damage, they would have long before now. I had to change uros last year because my long term one retired, and happily my new one agrees that as long as they offer relief, we should continue doing them as needed. My last one before this latest one was in May of last year so that's not too bad.

Just wondering Donna...since you have had so many hydros/cystos..does your insurance cover them? I had only one in Aug 2005 and I am just concerned if this is a once a year thing or what...and if insurance company's cover when needed basis...Thanks..Glad you are doing well

In my 31 years with IC, I have dealt with at least three insurance companies through the group plan at the hospital where I worked, and now on Medicare and a supplement, and all have paid. Apparently, it's a recognized treatment option for IC.

I just found out this year (January) that any day surgery/procedure cost $250.00 out of pocket, and a hydro will be considered day surgery with my insurance. That's just not right!

Of my insurance, I have to pay a deductable of $100.00 for the out patient procedure, and then 20% of up to my $1000.00 co-pay.

We have to pay $50 for day surgery plus paying for any oral medications.

I Pay Out Of Pocket For My Hydros. My Boss Does Not Offer Insurance And My Husband Is Employed At The Same Co. His Parents Own The Co. But Little Good That Does Me When The Doctor Bills Have To Be Paid. I Have Had 3 This Year So Far. They Do Help. I Have The Procedure Done In The Dr Office To Keep Cost Down. Does It Help More Or Last Longer If You Have It Done Surgically?
