pelvic abcess

I am not sure where to post this so I tried here. Okay I went to the Doc had some test done cat scan , Pelvic ultrasound for right side pain and hurting when I pee and have a BM. I was told to day I have a pelvic abcess. He wants to drian it in the next few days, has anyone ever had this or the pro cedure? Courious on what this is all about. Please respond Thanks Delinda

I'm not certain it would be the same for one of us, but we had a dog who used to get them. The vet would lance it and put in a drain so the yuck could drain away. It usually only took a few days for it to heal and there didn't seem to be any lasting effects. Sorry I don't know something about them in humans, but hopefully someone will have an answer for you.
