Fibroid

I just found out I have a 4 cm Fibroid cyst in my right uterus and was told that it may be causing the frequency I've been having (although I've been in remission for the past month). What happens when you have a cyst of this size besides irregular (heavier) and shorter period cycles? Do I need to do anything for it? Do they grow? What happens if they take it out? Does it just come back? I want to try to get pregnant soon - do I need to remove it first ? HELP. Some doc told me I need to get a DNC? Does anyone know about that. Does it really make your fibroid smaller?
I will tell you my bladder has been better than ever in these past few weeks, but it was worse than ever for about 3 months before that. I wonder if the fibroid was bigger then and now it's shrinking? Any help would be great. T hanks!!!!!

Have had fibroids for year, mine are 2 cm and numerous. My uterus is enlarged because of it. They usually shrink after menopause, and they react to estrogen.
There are surgeries that can remove only fibroid, a D & C will mow them down, but they can regrow. I had an endometrial oblation for heavy bleeding due to fibroids, it lasted 10 years and then the lining and the fibroids grew back. The oblation mowed them down, but theywere still in the lining.
For what its worth most women have fibroids.
