I have to say that I think this year the guys are more exciting and talented when performing than the girls! There are like 5 guys that I absolutely loved their performances! When I watched the girls do theirs Tues I think it was, I found myself bored and getting up and doing other things a lot! I have to say though I'm not sure her name but the first one that came out and did "Never" by Heart. She did an awesome job! Ann

Last night I thought she looked alot like Drucella on Young and the Restless. Dont know if anyone watches, but when they both were their hair that way they look alike. Yes but PAULA......she is DRUGGED. And NOT on the painkillers she "claimed" to have been on last year because of the nail salon infection. Heck, I've been on painkillers, I am now......and No where NEAR that looped. sheesh.....I was listening to the DJ's and talk shows on Sirius, and they all think she is on qualudes or extacy (sp?) Never been on either, so I don't know!

We went to Richmond a few months back and my daughter (Kelly) sang at a place we were at, and we told this one guy she was on the Hollywood round for American Idol, just messin' with him......well she sang for the whole place and I KNOW everyone thinks my daughter is Kelly Pickler!! You saw my daughter's pic! LOL........My daughter sounds just like Kelly Clarkston and just won yet ANOTHER talent show here! She is SOOO mad at me for not taking her to audition for American Idol........this next year I will. I promised..........I will...........

One is Elliot (I think that's his name; has a short hair cut), and the other is that guy who sang last tonight, kind of a rocker song. He's got two kids...who are now really popular. It was cute. They are both real standouts.

I never miss American Idol. I love it, so does my sister. We call each other after every performance and judge them! HA! I think it will be a guy this year. They just are better all around to us (my sis and I). I really like Chris, of course I am a rocker from way back when! I also like Taylor, he reminds me of Michael MacDonald, maybe it's the hair! And Elliot is great too. As far as the girls go, I think it's either Kelly, Paris or the girl (not sure of her name) that her mother is a voice teacher. I think that's what it is called. I am so glad Brenna was voted off last night. She was just a little to over the top for me. ;)

Okay...It's time for me to come out of the closet. I did not watch much of the first few weeks this year becauce I got sick of Simon and his "you are the worst singer in the world" behavior. He was so mean. Now that they are in the top 12, I am watching. Most of the contestants are very good this season.

Chris's "I Walk the Line" was so good and so unique. I have never heard it done like that before and I wish I could hear and see him do it again. I agree about his eyes...WOW...Made this oldie but goodie squirm. :D

Taylor Hicks is a kick to watch. He is so cute up there strutting around. I thought Bucky was going to go. Instead, it was "the kid". I am okay with that. I knew his time was about up. Hopefully, Bucky will go next week.

BTW...have you noticed that Brian is dressing up this season? I was so tired of all those tee shirts and the sloppy look. He is even shaving.

Simon...will you please get something else to wear besides V-neck Ts? :rolleyes: I think I would faint from shock if he dressed for the show. At least he is smiling more this season.

I am also so tired of Randy's "hood" talk. Calling a woman a "dude" and a "dawg". I think the surgery has affected his eyes.

I used to LOVE American Idol...I mean love it. I spent time on the Idol message board, I spent HOURS voting for Bo because I'm old (well, 42...yeah, I'm old) and then I paused a taped show at the very end where they put their disclaimer that says that the producers have a right to change the voting as they see fit.

Basically, they pick who they like, and who they want to win, and they do....the rest of it is done for ratings...like Scott Sabel last year, they kept him around when he should have been gone instead of Constantine, etc...it's ratings, and they control it all.

I dont wanna burst your bubble or take away your fun, I really dont. I'm not writing this to ruin the experience or take away the joy...I STILL like watching it, but now I know the truth and the voting public has VERY LITTLE to do with it.

Simon said at the very beginning of last years shows that Carrie would win, and he thought she was the best, well, he picked her, along with the producers of the show, and she won. I like Carrie, but, I felt betrayed that all those hours of voting were a waste of time, money (texting), and I felt really silly.

Ahhhh, just my take on it. Please dont hate me :(

I'm so glad the nerdy kid (sorry if I've offended someone or one of his big fans) went home last night. How he made to the top 12 I'll never know. I had so many favorites on Tuesday night, I wouldn't know how to pick just one. My 9 year old daughter is so infatuated with Ace, she thinks he's hot potatoes, hee hee. Because of American Idol, she wants to be a rock star when "she grows up". OH BOY!!!! Anyways, It will be an interesting season to see who comes out on top this year. There's really ALOT of talent in this group this year. ;)

:idea: Is it just me or does anyone else see how much Kelly Pickler and Ryan Seacrest hang all over one another when the cameras are about to break for a commercial or the end of the show? I think there's some chemistry there, just watch sometime and ya'll will see it.

I love American Idol, whether it's fixed or not. Simon's comments I could do without but he seems a little more sweetened this season. All those fights with Paula must of done some good or it's his honey telling him to soften up a bit. LOL. Amazing what love will do to a person, isn't it? :biglaugh:

Hi everyone. I must admit I watch this too - it's my guilty pleasure. I've even gotten my husband watching it too but he pretends he isn't. LOL Just happens to bring his laptop in the room every time it's on though. Hee Hee.
I was disapointed when the kid from Memphis didn't make it in the final 12. He was a much better singer than a couple of others that made it.

Yeah...it does s**k...I was very disappointed to read that. Its at the very end of the show, when they run the credits. Unless they've changed it from last year, it says they can change the voting. :rolleyes: They run through it so fast it's impossible to read without stopping it.

There was a huge scandal last year when a British newspaper came out with the headline "Carrie Underwood, This year's American Idol..." ran a week before the finale...turns out the story was linked to the producer or whatever he is (Simon something...not Simon Cowell, the other Simon).

I know, I know...got too much time on my hands to know all this stuff. Please, dont get angry with me for saying this, because I have seen the turmoil it can cause...mostly from a bunch of mad Bo fans LOL. Then the Carrie defenders...etc.

Oh well....it's STILL fun to watch, it is...I just dont flip out over it anymore. It's lost some of its appeal to me to know that I was manipulated like that, and fell for it.

:mad: Yea, it's kinda like the book that Oprah promoted from her book club "A Million Little Pieces". I was about half way through it when are of the controversy came out several weeks ago. I haven't picked it up since. My sister finished reading it, just because she liked the way he wrote the book. I was telling all of my friends about it, especially my brother who is a recovering drug addict. He bought the book and was reading it at the same time as me. Not sure if he finished it. He said that being a drug addict, he knew that alot of it was fabricated. Especially the dentist part. Very disappointing! I was probably as embarssed as much as Oprah was! I felt like sending it back to James Frey and demanding a refund!

Oh, well, I will still watch American Idol, but like you will not vote anymore! :cussing:

I heard about that book....I WAS going to get it from Amazon. I have read a lot of great books from her book club, but was really glad I didnt spend the money on that one.

Janie, Kelly Pickler's hometown is about 45 minutes or so from here (Charlotte, NC) and the local radio hosts were talking about her "dumb" act...not knowing what a minx was, not knowing what 'ballsy' meant, etc. Enough is enough...people here are getting angry that she's makin us NC peeps look like a bunch of hicks......LOL

The prediction around here is that it's going to be a caucasian male that wins, because thats the only combo that hasnt won (and that's made it to the top 12)....we'll see...whoever shows the best marketing potential!

We out here feel the same way about the winner of AM. I really feel that it will be Chris. After all he is hot and I'm an old rocker from way back when and still to this day listen to Alternative Rock.

Now, Taylor, he is great to me as well. He sings also the kind of music I like. Like when he did the Doobie Brothers tune that Michael McDonald sings (love Michael) and I also love Elton John. I love his performance too. I would definitely go see him in concert when he tours (as I am sure he will). I just went and saw Paul McCartney in concert in November. I was really sick, but wasn't gonna let that stop me! I am a big beatles fan from way back when. I used to go to concerts all of the time, but really don't like the big crowds anymore, unless I have great seats. When we (three other girlfriends) went to see Paul we had great seats, on the floor only 30 rows back. Of course I managed to sneak up front close to the end of the concert. Hey, I have waited years to see him and I wanted an up close look! Boy, I'm such a groupie! :biglaugh:

Sounds like we like the same music :) I am not sure who Chris is...I've watched AI only briefly this season, and only caught a couple performances. I did see Taylor, and liked him, but he won't win because he's not the right combo of things to get all the age groups to buy his music. Teens won't like him because he looks older, and appeals more to the old chicks like us LOL! Thats why Bo didnt win, because the market for him was us ole rockers for the most part.

The last concert I went to was Lillith Fair, and I won those tickets through a radio station...I'm a huge Sarah McLachlan fan and have every cd she's ever put out... (see my signature, lol). That was a long time ago...a whole lifetime ago, before IC, fibro, etc. Sounds like the McCartney concert was worth it...sick or not!!

I went to see the Who, ZZ Top, The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, and Elton John....others that I can't think of right now...man, that was SO long ago. :shake:

Chris is the bald headed guy, who did the Alternative rendition of Walk the Line by the great-late Johnny Cash, this last week. He always consistant with his style of music. Well, all I have to say about Taylor is that even if he doesn't win, someone will sign him to do a record or album or CD...HA! How about an 8 track! Now I'm really dating myself. So, I am sure he will be fine and I know he already has a big fan base, me included!

They used to have concerts every city during the summer that were called "Days on the Green". It was at the baseball stadium, obviously on the field. I saw Fleetwood Mac there as well as The Eagles, Peter Framptom (remember that guy!), Heart, Led Zepplin...I have never seen the Who but was always a big fan. Of course that was years ago! My most recent concert before Paul was Clint Black (Country) who I LOVE and before that was Madonna. My husband is not as big of a fan as I am. He's almost eight years older than me so he likes the oldies - I mean real oldies! HA! He is also a surfer (long boarder) from way back when so likes surf music, or Hawaiian music.

My first concert was in the City (SF) at Winterland (it closed down years ago). I saw Sons of Chaplin, Joe Walsh with Barnstrom and Montrose with Sammy Hagar on the lead vocals! Now that was a long time ago, almost 34 years! Yikes, I'm getting old. What am I saying I am old! :loco: Hey, but better than the alternative, right? :rolleyes:

Yup watched the show and must say thought alot of them where "flat" last night. My favourite was Chris singing Creed, yup ****** it was out of the "american idol" sceme of things but they encourage the singers to do songs that "they" would do, then when they to...geesh. Loved Taylors act, and what's up with the comments on his "dress". He looked the best he ever has yet. Didn't like Kelly at all, that act MUST go, Mandisa, yup wasn't impressed with her performance, Ace did an OK job, tough song to sing. My guess Lisa goes!

I didn't like Taylor's outfit, only because it didn't seem to suit him. Love Clay Aiken, so how is that an insult? I only watched half the show then wandered around cleaning up. Everyone I watched was mediocre. I watched through Ace or Mandisa, whoever was last, and then gave up. This is the really dull few weeks in this show. We know who the bottom half of contestants are, we just have to wait 5 weeks or so till they go away and then the real contest begins. But it sure beats watching whatever else is on TV. Thank goodness for the DVR, but there's hardly enough worth even taping!!!

I don't think Kelly will win, it would be odd to have a female country singer win 2 years in a row, but she will get a record contract and be just as succesful as Carrie Underwood.

Ya I was kinda shocked too, but then the last couple of weeks her song choice and vocals where flat but then again they where all flat.

Next week will be interesting, I can think of a only one what will be able to even touch a Queen song and that is Chris, Taylor will likely do ok if he picks the right song. It will be really interesting to see how Kelley and Bucky do, that is way out of their leaque.

Okay, I was shocked at the bottom three as well, but I really didn't care for most of their song choices, except for Chris and Paris, Kathatine was okay, she's just so darn cute and full of life. Oh, and I liked Bucky as well. He did as the big dawg said "it was just alright for me" LOL!

I can't believe Mandisa was voted off, I really saw her going far into the competition. So sad. Her song choice wasn't very good for her voice, I don't think but she can really wail it. If I had a voice like that, I'd be so happy!

Yea, no surprise there, it was his time, actually he lasted a couple of times longer than he should of. I liked him though, seem like a real genuine guy, if you could understand him! Ha! Ryan was funny last night when he said "I have no idea what you just said!"

Yes, Ace has been on the edge for a few weeks now but based on the nights performances, Kelley should have been gone. She finally said something intelligent "I butchered the song" and that she did. I think Ace did a good job, was totally surprised to see Chris in the bottom three.

Okay all, any thoughts on who will go home tonight? What did you think of last nights performances? My husband and I thought (again) that Chris, let's see if Randy was saying it, "The Bomb". LOL He was so good, and we loved the acoustic guitar, just a nice little added feature to the music.

I also (so did Rich) loved Elliot. The man can sign, he was great as well. But, there were no tears here at out house, kinda felt like we should of, since Paula did. What was up with her last night. She seems to get worse and worse every week. Is it only us (my sis too) or does that woman not even make sense? Taylor just "didn't bring it to the table" HA! LOL! But I still love him. Oh, and I thought Katharine was good too, so did Rich, but the judges didn't like her. Now Paris, didn't do much for me. At least Katharine was better singing a Whitney song than Paris was doing a Babs song.

I am glad the judges apologized to Katharine and I wonder if the only reason they did is because when the votes came in she had one of highest votes. I mean, it's great they did apologize, but if America taked into account their judgements, she could of lost due to that. Obviously America (we) are alot smarter than that.

I'm running a couple days late on my postings here...lol. Had to have a cat scan done and it was the most painful prep I've ever had...

Ok, Idol, PICKLER IS GONE, her blonde hair and dumb act only took her too long. Last couple of weeks she didn't do well so should rightly go. Nobody really did anything for me other than Chris. He has nailed it each week. Taylor is another fav, this week he didn't do so well but has been great up until now. Katherine, don't know what it is but I just don't like her style, can't pinpoint it to what it is. Who will be next, who knows, there have been some shockers so it's anything goes !

Well Chris is the talk of "today". Everybody is shocked that he was voted off. I read an article on MSN that there are already bands looking for a lead singer and they have contacted him. One being "Fuel" and he sang one of their song's earlier in the competition and the other being Creed. I think he would take on Creed with no problems at he, he has the edge to do it.

No worries Chris, your gonna still go places. No doubt in my mind.

The article also mentioned that the judges did not feel the three remaining will get a contract with a record company and that most likely Simon will end up funding everything for the year.

Totally agree with all of you, Katherine, don't like her. I have no idea what it is just something. She should have been the one to go. Hey, I heard that Chris had been asked by Fuel to be their lead singer, someone else too, can't remember. But, did you guys here about the scandal? Evidently over 60,000 people called to vote for Chris but instead of Chris's voice on the line it was Katharine? Wonder what they are going to do about that. Yes Chris was offered lead singer of Fuel and there are also talks that Creed is after him too. This guy is gonna show American Idol who can sing !

AI did a recount and votes and "they said " they are correct, they also replayed the tapes and "they said" there was not a mixup with the numbers and that is wasn't incorrect, who knows. They are going to do what they can to cover up mistakes if any where made.

All been said, Chris is still gonna go places and likely got a faster push to fame because of what happened last week. He will do better then any of the three remaining.

My vote now is for Taylor, he sure can entertain. Just hope he can put that entertainment on a CD and sell it.

LOL, this is to funny. I was at a live wreath making class the other night and got chatting with the gals, three watched AI and all three didn't like Katherine either, same things, didn't know why, just didn't like her.

I think Taylor is in. I heard he received well over half the votes and Elliott and Katherine's votes where extremely, so close they recounted to make sure. Elliott only lost by a fraction.

I did see a segment on TV yesterday and they had some record producers on and they said that they would sign Kat before Taylor? That she could sell records easier than Taylor, which I think is crazy. They also said that the people that voted for Elliot would most likely vote for Kat before Taylor. I think that's a bunch of crap. We'll see soon enough. I've heard the same thing on several shows, can Taylor "sell" his music on a CD. He is such a great entertainer to "watch" but can he take that same energy and put it on something you can't see and still sell it.

I still think that of the two finalist he is the best and deserves to win. Katherines performances are up and down, nothing consistant. Unlike Taylor, week after week solid singing and not once has he been in the bottom three !

I realll wanted Chris to win but that is out but I still love Tayor's spunk and personality for living life to it's fullest. He's a having a good time and I think some of us enjoy hearing him too. He reminds me of my favorite singer Edwin McCain but with a little more life to him more happiness. We called to vote for him last week, my Husband called twice once for me and once for him and we will do the same tonight. I just love his positive attitude toward llife in general and his contagious smile. I wish I could take some lesson from him on how to be so grateful for what I have in my life!
