Ok My hysterectomy has kicked my tush. It really is more then I thought it would be. My bladder is in absolute denial without being attached to my uterus, I guess they had a really good friendship going and must miss each other to thrive on.
Apparently my uterus and bladder were so attached that they looked like one mass organ. The gyn did get it detached without any bladder damage and I was able to void after the cath was removed. :woohoo: I have a really crappy appetite and nausea going on right now. The hot flashes are insane or as hubby say No You are. My gyn said the outside of my bladder was worse then tehn inside and that wasn't saying much. She was able to fill my bladder with 1800cc's of baby formula before all H*** broke lose inside my bladder.
Just wanted to update you all and tell you I am alive but sitting isn't much of an option right now. Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes I appreciate them.
Thanks Cindy, Barb and Karma for the calls, sorry I was :bonk: and missed you call karma, had I know it was you I would have woke up and blabbered something to you even if it didn't make sense.

Get better soon, dear! Hopefully you're going to feel much better once you're all healed. Tell your bladder to get used to being lonely because it's not allowed to get attached to any other organs!

My last bout with IC all started with surgery, too.I had a rectocele done and my GYN coulddn't understand why my block wore off and I was in such pain. The hospital had to call him at home in the middle of the night because I was turning into the Exorcist movie with all the pain and he had left no orders for pain med.Long story short,it was my bladder causing all the trouble and not the surgery. That led to DMSO instills.......more horror pain stories and many UTI'S.Hope you have better luck than I did!!!!!!!!

Thanks everyone, I was so hoping to get on here and tell you I was up and moving but I am not. I am having hot flashes that are actually making me throw up. I can at lease pass gas some now which was not a very good thing until today. My pain levels are staying beyond a 10 you know the face they were really afraid to show you. Eatting is a huge problem becasue I am chosing things that will come up better when it does come up. I can't move without a huge pillow to hold into my tummy, my bladder is kicking around suicide thoughts since it was detached from its best friend my uterus. This was not what I expected, I have never needed this much help after a major surgery in my life. I see my baby a couple hours a day until he gets to rough for me to handle and back to grams house he goes. My girls have moved into grams as well and refuse to come home also. this is my first depression is not having my kids here to be with me even though I know I can' t take care of then correctly right now and they are being well spoiled. I hope to post a little perkier tomarrow.

Oh Leslie I'm so sorry things isn't going well for you. it has to be so much harder on you with your uterus and bladder having a fling going on for such a long time. How-ever I'm very glad you have some help that is one thing i didn't have, beside my husband who got to stay home with me a whole two days at home with me then his mother was suppose to stay which didn't happen.
you take care of yourself hon. I had to walk around with a pillow on my tummy too for a while. things will get better and you will be glad you had it done.
You may want to call your dr back and get on some harmone to try to control those awful hot flashes. I didn't have to take them long but i kept my overies. those hot flashes are heck! every time i got one i got sick to my stomach. which was often. my dr had to call me in an anti nausa medicine to stop it.
hope you feel better soon hon.
sending you hugs and prayers

aww man I wish you were feeling better but it has only been a week so in due time. I am sure the kids are enjoying grams house while they are missing you though. I can't imangine how you are feeling with no kids around 24/7. get plenty of rest and keep the fluids in you at least. I remember how it hurt to pass gas at 1st and then it was like man that felt good to have all the gas release from you.

Leslie,
I'm so sorry you're having such a hard time. I see that I'm way behind in my reading and I'm sorry that I missed this. Baby steps, thats all you can do right now.
I hope you feel better soon...and don't be so sad that you need help right now, its perfectly ok to need help after surgery. :kissing:
Hugs, Sandy

(((((Hugs))))) for you on their way. Tell that bladder of yours to just get over the separation anxiety. :tsk: It won't do any good to raise a ruckus. That uterus is not coming back...never, never, never.

Thanks girls, doing a little better today. (At least I didn't dread my shower) I still am pretty well a huge couch potatoe. Who would every imagine how miserable this would be, I sure didn't.

Glad you're better today. I know it's hard. I tell everyone to just think of this: if you had a job you would be given 6-8 weeks off to heal from a hysterectomy. Plan on taking it easy for that long! I know that it stinks, but when it's all over with you will be glad that you did it. I'm also glad that you showered! I thought the shower always felt good, but it hurt to stand up that long. I put a lawn chair (or you could use a stool) in there so I could sit down! I needed help getting up & out of it, but it felt so good to just sit there & let the water pour on me.

Glad you are doing a bit better today hon it does take baby steps. I never thought it would be that bad either, but it was :( Not as bad as yours but bad enough for me. plus i was forces to be mommy only a few days afterwards. your so lucky you have some help. Let them help hon you deserve the rest! just sorry your having to suffer so. You will be glad its done and over with once your healed and never have to go threw that again. I know my life is better without it. just sorry i didn't have one more baby. I wanted another little girl but i guess three is enough.
Rest rest rest.

Sorry you are flaring and hope soon you feel better. Your post stood out to me because I had never heard of IC until my abdominal hyst and immediately afterwards is when my IC started. 6 weeks after the hyst I was back in the hospital trying to figure out what was wrong with my bladder after being on antibiotic's for 6 weeks with no relief and got a uro and a cysto/hydro and confirmed IC and my whole world fell apart. I had never had a bladder infection before. So I really feel for you. A large cut on your belly and a bladder ache not a good combo. Hope soon you start feeling better..

I had my hysterectomy "back in the old days".I got to stay in the hospital for 6 days and they didn't even get me out of bed until the 3rd day.....things sure have changed.Everyone told me not to woryy that it was a breeze........well they all lied!! I had a horrible time, too! So don't be too hard on yourself.Take it easy and don't rush things.....especially with the bladder and all. You'll be up and around soon enough.I just hope you get to feeling a little better so you can enjoy your downtime just a bit more...before you have to go back into the REAL world again.Take care!!!!!!!!!!!
