I swear, I am so lucky in the doctor department lately.

I saw my pain management doctor, who did all the orders for my pain control when I was in the hospital. He had me covered 24/7 and if I had ANY pain, they either gave me 2 lortab along with my oxycontin i take regularly, or they gave me morphine by IV. I was so afraid of being in pain while I was admitted but thanks to him and my uro I was alright.

Today he told me that if I start having IC problems other then the "heaviness" to call him and he would order something stronger for me and I am already on oxycontin and norco and soma for pain plus klonopin that helps the fibro pain.

I just couldnt believe it. I know with all these meds it sounds like WAY too much, but I've lived on these meds for 3 years now or so, so I've built a tolerance but have stayed on the same doses for quite a while now and have had controlled pain. Without it the pain is unbearable.......makes me shiver to remember.

I just am so blessed, I really am. My doctors, from my GP, to my Gastro doc for the Crohns, to the URO and Pain doc, they ALL believe my pain and treat me, the way human beings are supposed to be treated.

Every time I leave his office I want to hug him and kiss him.......and he's a hunk too and taking a "vacation" to Prague next month...must be nice to go all over the world whenever you want to.

It took me a long time to find this set of doctors who didnt think I was a hysterical woman, and for that there just aren't words to describe the relief, physical and emotional.

If anyone needs help finding a doctor, I have learned, the hard way, and thru trial and error, how to check out a doc before you see him/her and come out of the door in tears. Especially if you live in the Charlotte area or surrrounding areas, I've got names and numbers!

Sorry to ramble.......I'm just amazed.

Hugs, Sandy

I am so glad you are happy with your dr. That makes a huge difference. I just saw my gyn. yesterday and she is awesome. She doesn't accept insurance anymore so I have to pay out of pocket and then submit it to my insurance company, but because she doesn't have to work with insurance she can spend forever with her patients. She spent about 45 minutes to an hour with me and then left me a message on my machine following up. She gave me huge hugs and good medical advice. When you can find a good doc., hang on to them!

Do you know of any doctors near Canton, Georgia. I live very close to Marietta, if that helps. I really like my uro and he's been great, but I need pain management. Anyone have any recommendations? Thanks.
