Hi everyone,
I had my Cystro/Hydro done on the 14th. I have been pretty down. Since. They did find I have IC. I knew I did but I was praying they didn’t find it. They were also looking for neurophy but didn’t find that. They told me I’m better off with IC then Neurophy. I rather not have anything. The day of surgery I was really good. Had no pain. I had really low urine flow for a few days.
They put me on a week of Macrobid, Elavil at night and Ultram for pain. They did DMSO while I was under.
I do'nt know how bad my IC is. DR. didn’t tell my husband. Just that I have IC. Didn’t get any pictures. I go see him tomarrow.
Well the next day I was so zapped and very very weak I couldn’t get out of bed. I felt like the life was going out of me. After taking the Elavil 4 nights. I was thinking I was on this before and made me so weak the same way. So I stopped taking it Friday night to see if I would get better. It took till late Sunday to get my strength back. So I’m sure it was the Elavil. I just can't take it if I want any kind of a life.
I am having a little discomfort today. some spasm. But I can handle it. Tomorrow I go in for a DMSO then once a week for four weeks.
I am so depressed. I don’t know why I knew I had IC. I was in denial I guess.
I had my surgery on Valentines Day. When I got home my husband said do you see anything different I looked around then a screamed with delight. He got me a bird. Real pretty green and yellow one. Little boy. Now I have a boy and a girl. He chirps a lot.

At least now you know and hopefully will find effective treatments soon.

Sending warm healing thoughts,
Donna

Thinking you have IC and finding out for sure that you have IC are two different things. Of course you are feeling down. I think that is natural. But, like Donna already said, now that you have a diagnoses, you can begin to find the right meds/treatments that work for you.

I am curious about the Elavil that you were taking. How large of a dose did the doctor start you out on? Could the symptoms you are experiencing be caused by too large of a dose for you? Not every med is okay for all of us. It could be that you just can't tolerate Elavil. Some here can't take it. There are other meds you can try. Don't give up. Keep on searching until you find the right ones for you.

What did you name your new boy? Are you going to try for some baby birds? Birds are so great. Their chirps can brighten up any gloomy day. Many years ago, I had a male Finch. His name was Mr. B. Short for Mr. Bird. Yeah, I know...not very original. I loved having him in my life.

I hope you start to feel better very soon. :kissing:

Hi The Dr started me out on only 25 mg Elavil.Im going to try again in a few nights. Maybe it was the stuff they put you to sleep with just took a long time to leave my body.
Like jet lag.
I named my new baby BAM he is green and my husband and I watch Emeril Live on Food network. He says BAM. Too bad I can’t eat the good food he cooks.
My female bird lays eggs all the time. We will see what happens. I have to look more into it. Before we have babies.
My husband is BAD I told him what I named him. He said ya he’s going to BAM her.
Oh well he made me laugh.
