A really good friend of mine suggested coloring Mandalas when I'm stressing out or flaring, she says they are relaxing. I'm thinking about trying it. Does anyone enjoy Mandalas?

What do you mean by mandalas? I have watched Buddhist monks building sand mandalas, using coloured sands which are built up in levels about 2 cm high. The monks use them to meditate and can picture the levels as three dimensional as they work, with rooms and halls..it is amazing.

Are you talking about symbolic drawings? It could have a similar calming , almost meditative effect, colouring them in. Where would you get such drawings?

Hi Rosalie,

Yes the coloring books! I just went to Barnes and Noble and picked one up today, I had a gift card from Christmas and wanted to try this. I just bought some colored pencils from Michaels too......the book is called "Coloring Mandalas for Insight, Healing, and Self Expression" by Susanne Fincher. It looks like it will be alot of fun and a great way to take a mental break from it all! I saw them on Amazon too, the are about $18. and it has 48 designs to color! YAY....I'm excited about it!! lol.....

It was in the "Eastern Religion" section.

Hugs and wishes for pain free days!

Thanks Kara, I will try to find the book and have it sent here. Mr suster is buddhist living and working at a new centre near Geelong . She and the Geshi will get a kick out of it.
Sounds like a wonderfully relaxing pastime
