View Full Version : Fritos or white chocolate?

OK...I did something so stupid. I had gotten a small bag of Fritos and some Lindt white chocolate at the store to try. But instead of trying them seperately which I had planned on, I stupidly ate a handful of Fritos AND some white chocolate. Now, of course, I have a huge flare and am not sure which one caused it...or probably the combo? The Fritos ingredients just say corn and oil and no preservatives. I thought the white chocolate would be safe, but it is, of course, primarily sugar.
Anyone eat either of these things successfully?
What the heck, I am so sick of trying to figure out things to eat. I have been on Elmiron for 7 months, and I swear I am more prone to food flares than ever. Grrrr.
I can eat Fritos. Some brands of white chocolate are ok for me & some aren't. I usually keep the amount small & eat it as dessert (with a meal, not alone).
Probably, you'll want to try a small amount of each individually, a few days apart, to avoid ruling out two foods instead of maybe only one....
I'm sorry you had a flare, hope you are feeling better very soon!

I've never tried the fritos but I don't have problems with the lindt white chocolate. They are my favorite and I eat them all the time.

I try not to purchase anything with preservatives and soy. I've found a great organic potato chip that potatoes, peanut oil and salt. As for he chocolate, I haven't tried any since I went on the IC Diet.

I have eaten an entire bag of lindt white chocolate without any problem, I think it was probably the Fritos, if the amount is small enough the FDA (or some other federal company) doesn't require the company to even put it on the label so there could have been a tiny amount of preservatives that triggered your flare.

Thanks for the responses! I tried a little white chocolate tonight...seems ok so far. I think it was the Fritos...they were super salty too. I will have to check out those plain organic potato chips instead.
What I wouldn't do for a huge Starbucks mocha with an extra shot and a gigantic chocolate bar!! :) Those are the things I miss the most!!

I miss tomatoes the most.
Salty foods like Fritos cause me to flare. I look for chips with low salt or no salt. When you do this for a while and then eat a "normal" salt chip, you really notice how salty it is.

I can eat both white chocolate & fritos, but I also have to take a supplement when I eat them because both of them do constipate me. I know how hard it is to only try one thing @ a time it gets very frustrating when your taste buds are screaming for both!!!
