Okay, I'm definitely going overboard, but I'm so anxious to find a "cure" for my PBS. I'm really not experiencing any pain at all right now, but maybe the Elavil is just masking it. I am considering lowering my dose back to 25 mg next week after I discuss it with my URO.

Anyway, I went to the local healthfood stores, Sandy's Produce and Whole Foods. At Sandy's I found IC-friendly salad dressing! :woohoo: I also bought some Roobio (sp?) tea and marshmallow root. At Whole Foods I bought some blueberry leaf tea, and probiotics (10 strains).

I don't know how I'm going to keep track of all these "remedies" on top of the Elmiron, Elavil, and enzyme therapy. Whoa!

Anyone else overloading on "remedies"???

BTW, I had a glass of wine this afternoon, just to see if it hurt me. So far so good.

You sound like me when I was first diagnosed. I really thought there must be something out there that would be a real cure. Basically the only thing that improved was the financial status of my local health food store.

What I'm saying is that you shouldn't feel you have to try everything there is out there. If you really want to try something, do it one at a time.

Warm hugs,
Donna

i think it is best to try one thing at a time, and I would give it a week before you add each thing in if something is not bothering you because there can be delayed reactions. I know you want to feel better quick but there is no quick fix so just take it one thing at a time. Good luck to you

Thanks for the replies.

Oh well...at least I'm eating better because of IC!

I'm adding the probiotics and blueberry leaf tea today, and will try the other stuff later. I know I could use the probiotics, even if they don't help the IC, and the blueberry leaf tea is the first thing I've had other than water. Yay! It was good, too! I'll keep drinking that.

loro - Okay, let me fess up. I had a glass of wine last night (first one in over a month!) and I was paying for it this morning. It's now 2 hours after drinking my blueberry leaf tea, and I feel much better. It has to be the tea... Anyway, I'm so glad that you've had good luck with these items. Makes me feel hopeful.
