Hi everyone, I hope that everyone is feeling as well as they can be. They couldnt do the C-scope on me as I had a sinus infection, and the hospital they were going to be doing it at does not have alot of good things said about it, and the doc really ticked me off as well. I went in to see him before the cscope about the pain and he wouldnt do a thing for me, told me to go home and drink baking soda. Yuck. The other urologist I wanted to see is having a fight with insurance companys so at this time hes not taking new patients with my insurance, so im screwed that way. I did however call a doc that I found on this site last night (Dr.Peters) but the really bad news is, he cant see me until the very end of next month. I called my own doc to make an apt with her and again she cant see me for another 2 wks. What can I do about the pain??? I have pyridium and amoxicillian(sp) antibotics, darvecet(which doesnt do anything for the pain) Lortabs which arent much better then the darvect, flexroral and alot of bendryl. im finding the bendryl helps but doesnt keep the pain at bay for very long. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, as i really think im dying with this pain.

When my pain is in my vaginal area, I put an ice pack on it. That seems to help.
I also use Pyridium Plus and Alleve. I usually take two Alleve with the Pyridium. Sometimes a heating pad might also give you some comfort. Not sure what else other than having your doctor give you something stronger. Will any of your doctors provide you with with a stronger pain killer? So sorry you're in so much pain. I've been there. Also, I know that when I am pain, constipation is usually a major culprit in adding to the pain. Do you have any of that going on? Wish I could be more help.
Hang in there,
Deb

drink baking soda now that is on my list of sugestions for pain....it is highly recommended by us patients....it may be yuck which is why I put the baking soda in a capsul and drink the glass of water....your doctor recommended this so I am assuming you don't have any diet restrictions of salt?

thank you all for the suggestions on the pain. The reason i cant do the baking soda is it makes me throw up. I dont know what causes it, but WOW it happens in almost a instant and doesnt go away for a few hours. Ive been on a high fiber diet for a couple of months now, I was hoping it would calm my tummy down, but it seems to be having the opposite effect on me. Im always running to the potty now lol. Of course having IBS in the mix of things probaly isnt helping me out to much either. I have noticed if I get constipated it makes the bladder pain really turn bad, so Ive been keeping to the high fiber diet, even though I do not have a appetite at all and everytime I eat i get really nauseated. I go and see my reg doc in a couple of weeks, hopefully she can prescribe me something strong to ease the pain up, cuz right now, all this just really sucks.

It may be the diet since a lot of things that are high in fiber are also bad for your IC http://www.ic-network.com/handbook/diet.html

I wish I could say I was feeling better, but Im not. Still got the nausea going on, and have no appetite to eat, so for today Im not going to eat. Im drinking plenty of water and praying I can get in to see a doc soon. Everyone is booked for the next 2 wks. I tried calling my other doc so I could talk to him about my surgery and hopefully speed that up to the next couple of weeks, but the dumbbutt receptionist left me on hold for an hr. I really really hate that office, you call and can never get thru to anyone, then when they do answer the phone they leave you on hold and never pick up again. Its just really really frustrating .
The nausea could be caused by not eating enough to cover the meds on your stomach. It can become a bad vicious cycle -- from personal experience I know... Maybe if the pain gets too bad you should go to an urgent care or an emergency room at a good hospital.
I am so sorry you are hurting.
