Hello I have a question. I have terrible itching that started yesterday. I am in the week before my period is supposed to come. (I haven't really had one since August) I've been having more burning than usual and I'm having a lot of pain and spasms in my bladder. That's pretty much normal for this time of the month. But what is this itching? Is it a normal part of IC? Should I call the doctor or keep dealing with it? Today, I'm in a lot of pain, I can never seem to differenciate between my IC Pain, Fibro or maybe even pain from the IBS. I feel like a mess today. Can you offer any ideas?
Thanks for your help.
:)

Have you changed washing detergent? toilet tissue? bought new underwear? It sounds more like you might have an irritation going from something external.

thanks Donna. I haven't changed anything. :( Not sure what's going on. I'll deal with it for another day and see if anything changes.
Sometimes yeast infections coincide with the changes in hormones that come with our period.

I have itching after every menstral cycle for about 4 to 5 days then it goes away, everytime I would go to the gyne he would tell me there is no infection, I think I am allergic to something in the sanitary napkins, because it happens every month then goes away. My gyne also told me to rub vegetabele oil on the whole area down there, at first I thought he was nuts but for me it seems to help, I guess I get kind of chafed too. I would make sure you dont have an infection first. I hope you feel better soooooon.
After the menstrual cycle, it could be the hormones rebalancing. That is what my dr. told me. I often get burning for 4-5 days after my period ends.

I get the itching thing too. Sometimes before my period but always during and after. I haven't found anything to help stop it.

Check for a yeast infection as when hormones drop and progesterone becomes dominant yeast thrives.

I had this happen my right before my last period. It began with burning, so i took calcium citrate (which helped) Then I took a diflucan and repeated it in a week and the burning and itching went away. So I think it was yeast. When I told my uro he had no clue and just prescribed the diflucan.
