I couldn't tolerate folic acid...still can't. Try cutting it out. I bet you will see some improvement ;) Folic acid is still up there with things I can't tolerate, along with onions and Black pepper (go figure??)

It is a learning curve in the beginning. I remember thinking what the heck am I doing wrong? I'm following the IC diet, what can it be? Sometimes it was an ingredient in something I was eating.

Good luck...

Have you tried Ensure? I usually have to have about 4 a day when I'm really bad because I can't eat when the pain is intolerable. Wouldn't that be awesome if that is what this bad flare has been all about, because I haven't had a break since summer.
Thanks for responding!

Adele,
I know some peopel can't tolerate the B vitiamins either. If your anemia is under control I would go a week without the vitamins and see how you are feeling. When I was at my worst I was taking some supplements that I thought were supposed to help me and couldn't figure out why I was hurting so bad. I gave up the supplements and some of the pain went away within a week.

I have never tried Ensure.

That would be wonderful if it is the folic acid but as Janie said try it only if you have your anemia under control (I wasn't aware that you were anemic) That has to be tuff...you need the folic acid, but it gives you a flare up...what a vicious cycle! What does your Doctor have to say about that? Is there a natural alternative?

I'm going to have to look into it now. I'm sure he'll be shocked to know that the two may be related. How are you doing today?
