Has anyone had laser surgery for hunner's ulcers? My dr has recommended that i have it. I have been putting it off since November. I really miserable now. I'm thinking about scheduling the surgery now. Just wanted some feedback.

Hello :)
I've had them burned off 4 times now. It definitely brings some relief but they do come back. I’m surprised your uro didn’t remove them while you were under for a cysto/hydro or did you just get the cysto while awake?

Hi Christine. I've had three distensions and that dr never suggested burning them off. I was asleep. I've changed drs now. I guess I'll call and schedule the procedure, I'm in a lot of pain.

I've never had a hydro, but I've read that one can get good relief if the ulcers are lasered. I've also heard that they come back. But, hey, relief is good even if temporary. I sometimes think of getting a hydro just to see if I have them and to have them treated then.

not everyone hunners will come back after being removed. granted i'm one of the few that those suckers refuse to leave me alone and must have them removed once every six months for relief.
I've had it done many many times. if your lucky you may be one of the lucky icers who has them removed and they never come back again.
have you tried other treatments for them to go away instead of surgery? there are different treatments beside surgery ask your dr. if your scared of the surgery but really its always been wroth it to me. its not much more pain then a hydro/c while under in the o.r its a one day surgery.
good luck let us know what you decide. i just had them removed again last tuesday so today i'm one week post op. if you have any question p.m me i will get back to you as soon as i can. it may take a few days but i will get back to you asap.
sending you hugs and prayers
Rhonda
