Several people, including myself, have been talking about a photography thread so I decided to start one.
Anyone interested in sharing photos? tips? tricks? etc etc etc?
I think for those who are interested, it would be neat to start off with pictures of your area of the world/neighborhood.
I'll wait to start posting my pictures once I see if this thread is going to take off or not...

:) Janie, what beautiful photo's you have on your site, I hope I will be able to do that one day, I'm waiting to get my first digital camera out on lay-away, i'm going to have a lot of fun, i'm sure.
Rosalie loves keeshonds, will be interesting to see her reaction when she sees a photo of them in your gallery!

Martha,
Can't wait to see your pictures too. This will be fun. Hey if any of you want to see the password protected albums send me a private message and I'll send you the password. They are mostly family photos and photos of my neighborhood. I keep them password protected just to be on the safe side but would share those photos with my IC friends.
That is cool that Rosalie likes Keeshonds. That photo was taken the first and only time I have ever seen any dogs of that breed. I have to say they are VERY impressive!

Martha,
Thanks so much for viewing my photos and for all the sweet comments. I really appreciate it! I'll let you know when I take some more photos. I have been kind of in a slump because we have been having a lot of dreary, overcast weather and it is really hard for me to get motivated to get outside with the camera.
I just checked out the camera you are getting. It looks like you will have a lot of fun and get some great photos with that one! When will you be getting it?

Nice pics Janie! And I'm loving the horses! Are they all yours?
What kind of camera do you use? Do you use any type of photo program such as Photoshop, etc? I have a Canon PS G6 that I bought last June. Its 7.1mp and I got a telephoto attachment for it this past Christmas. I havent had the opportunity to really put that to the test yet though-just a few pictures around the neighborhood to make sure it works..haha
I had a trial version of Photoshop but found there was just SOOOOOOOOO much to it that I gave up on it. I currently use ArcSoft and PhotoDeluxe. The only things I do to my photos, unless I'm merely goofing off, is sharpen and crop when needed.
My photos are posted on Flickr. Since this thread is hopefully going to take off I'm going to start posting the more interesting photos directly to this site.
The link to my Flickr photos is...

feel free to browse.
I just took some pics of my son and his friends skateboarding; gotta go upload and see if any came out good enough to share..hahaha
Martha, a friend of mine has the Kodak camera that you have on lawaway. She very rarely uses it (shame on her!) though the pics I've seen turned out nicely. Cant wait to see pics of your area and interests!!! Now we gotta get Ro and Tracey over here to shutterbug with us; and anyone else for that matter!

:) Janie, you are very welcome, I hope to get the camera in about 4 to 5 weeks, we put it on lay-away last week, so the more money we can afford to put on it, the quicker we will get it out, we had 3 big bills to pay this week, but now they are out of the way we can put more money towards the camera.

:) Thanks D, I was hoping the camera was good, I don't really have any knowledge about cameras, this one was on special and it was something we could affort to put on lay-away.
I love taking pictures of nature, and insects and so on, the problem with the old camera was that you have to wait to get the film developed and then most of them were very disappointing, now I can just delete the ones I don't like, I'm so excited I can't wait to get it out, and I will be getting lots of tips from you guys!

:) Diana, I just looked through all your photo's on the flick'r site, and the tattoo of the crab has me intrigued, I would love one of a crab, because my starsign is cancerian, D, could you tell me honestly ''DOES IT HURT'' because some people say '' not much, and others say, yes it hurts a lot, and would never get it done again, I realize every ones pain tolerance is different, my daughter has a tattoo too, and she didn't think it was to much of a big deal, hhmmmm she didn't convince me at that stage, I like to hear other people's opinions too.

Martha, thanks for taking a look at my Flickr site--I try to add to it about once a week.
Re: the crab tattoo. I got that about 6 years ago; and in all honesty it wasnt painful. There was a bit of discomfort--stinging and electrical shock type sensations that would run down my arm. It only took the guy about 15-20 minutes to complete. Its also in a nice fatty area which helps with how much pain is involved. I've seen people get them on their ankle, lower back, wrist, upper chest, shoulder, etc where there is bone and it looked like it was a bit painful. And like you said, everyones pain tolerance is different so what might not be painful for one person might be agony for another.
I say "go for it"; if you can handle the bladder pain then you can surely handle the few minutes of pain/discomfort that a tattoo might cause--no doubt!
going to go upload some pics i took today

In your reply, click the "Insert Hyperlink" button. It's the world one - 3rd from the right. The 1st prompt is what you want to call your link (can cancel) & the 2nd prompt is where you put in the website address of the pic you want to post. Does that make sense?

I'm glad someone else answered Janies question..ahahahaha...the couple of times I've explained how to post a pic I've felt as if i'm rambling and that noone will understand...hahaha....
Janie, thanks for the comments on the Flickr site! I'm quite fond of my little crab tattoo.hahaha..
My son lives on that darn skateboard. Every afternoon he and all his friends, about 10 boys alltogether, hop on their skateboards and think theyre professionals..hahaha..I took pictures of them all on Wednesday-they didnt turn out all that well so I ended up deleting them. I didnt bother overriding the manual settings so therefore the action was blurry.
So do you own all of those horses, Janie? I think it would be cool to own a horse though I bet its tons of work, huh?
Karma, I just looked at your pics. Where were the butterfly pics taken at? I can never find any butteflies around here for some reason--i know they exist..haha..
Your dogs seem very comfortable in front of the camera. My dogs shy's away whenever I get the camera out :hmm:

Now I've had a chance to look at all your photos better. The PC was really slow in loading the pages. My son has the annoying habit of opening and working in about ten programs at once. When he goes out he logs off but the programs are still running and I can't go in a close them ...little buggar has it passworded....Argh! slows everything up. So I just turned the pc off and now he loses all his stuff. Tough!
Jane Alexander, you are a professional photographer aren't you? Your photos are wonderful. I especially love the portrait of Jessica. Did you manipulate it in Photoshop? I have Adobe Photoshop 6 and although I only know the basics, I love messing around with it. A copy was given to me by my son's mate who is studying multi media, so I don't have any manuals or instructions.
Any help here would be much appreciated.
Between you and Diane we are going to have some very interesting shots.
Martha, you and I have some catching up to do!
When I was in my twenties I bought a secondhand Pentax Spotmatic..I was in heaven and you know, my 17yr old daughter used it for her photographic studies last year until the lightmeter died. The last one had to be sorced in the US. I doubt that I will ever find one again. The camera must be over 40yrs old but it still takes a pretty mean picture if you operated it fully manually.
Anyhoo, I've talked about the new one I bought for her on ebay.
'cuse me I'm rambling a bit here......Friday night!!! Yeah.. and I'm having a scotch...

Diane, I think all your butterflies are at my house! Well, not right now since it's winter, but I had hundreds of them in the summer & fall. The pics were taken in my backyard. I have 5 butterfly bushes & they really do attract the butterflies! It's sooo awesome! Yes, my dogs are hams - especially the oldest (Abe)!

Rosalie,Your keeshond was such a beautiful dog and he looks so intelligent. I know you must miss him terribly. I hope you are able to get another one very soon.
Some of you have asked about the horses. I don't own any of them any more but the photos were all of ones I had owned in the past (except one photo - Kambu - he was owned by a friend). I've actually owned a few more horses than the ones pictured but I didn't have any good photos of them that I could find. I rode all during my 20s and 30s and even my early 40s but then I decided it was time for me to stop playing ;-) and go back to school to finish my degree in psychology. After I did that, my husband and I decided it was time to stop procrastinating and we adopted our daughter (now 4 years old)). I had off and on symptoms of IC all during my riding days but in between flares I was perfectly fine. It wasn't until a couple of years after my daughter came to us that I started getting much more persistent and serious symptoms. Long story short . . . I don't think I would be able to ride again even if I wanted to. Now my life is so happy and full with my daughter that I don't even miss the horses to tell you the truth. It is hard to believe because for so many years the horses were my WHOLE life!
Thank you guys for helping me figure out how to add a photo. I will go and try it. For some reason I have done it before and never gotten it to work but I'll try again now by your instructions!
Everyone keep those photos coming!

Rosalie,
I meant to answer your question about PhotoShop and the photo of Jessica. I don't have PhotoShop, but I do have Paint Shop Pro - used to be by Jasc but is now made by Corel. Paint Shop Pro does most of the same things that Photo shop does (I think) but is a lot cheaper. Sorry I don't know anything about Photo Shop or I would be happy to try and help you.
I did manipulate the photo of Jessica with Paint Shop Pro. Thanks for your nice comment about the photo! :-)
Also wanted to say I really enjoyed looking at your photos - Love the scrapbook pages too!

Tracey, I dig the lighting on the 2nd cat pic...was that intentional or a lucky shot that you manage to capture?--being a cat owner myself (though despising every minute of it) i can imagine this was a lucky shot..hahaha..
Janie, I bet you miss those horses--fess up!..hahaha...I have very little horse experience, if thats even what you can call it, though love riding whenever the chance arises--which isnt very often. Where I live unless you own your own horse theres not any to ride due to the liability that comes along with allowing others to ride one you own--gotta looooooooooooooove those lawyers and lawsuits!!!..UGH!..The last time I had the opportunity to ride was a couple of years ago while in Arizona--it was SOOOOOO much fun! We rode under highwaya, up the mountainside, across the flat desert and coming back we were riding directly into the sunset..was way too cool! I have pictures on film that i'll have to find, scan and upload.
Ro, my brother-inlaw used to own a Keeshond (sp?) years ago. I vaguely remember the dog though. Sounds like youre really missing yours..
And Karma, I think youre right about having some of the butterflies that are supposed to be here in my yard in VA..hahaha. I remember as a kid they were everywhere, now I very rarely see the big colorful ones; only the little flittery fluttery litte white ones. I guess I'm going to have to plant some of them butterfly bushes since you say they really do work with the attraction. Is there any maintanence involved with the bushes?

These are some of the photos my daughter Hilary took last year as part of her photography studies. All her work so far has been in black and white as she also does all her developing in the schools photolab and they don't have the facilities to do colour. However, they have done work in hand colouring which can give some fabulous effects.
This one is from her 'Alice in Wonderland series' by this time my ancient pentax spotmatic she was using had started to play up.

'Panning' exercise taken in the school grounds. Fortunately she was able to use one of the school's photolab cameras

Another exercise in panning. The girls had so much fun creating this series.

This Hillz took just for fun and ended up in her end of year folio

Is it difficult to take photos with the snow? Does the white reflect a lot of light?

Ro, I'm liking the photos your daughter took Black and white photography looks so much cleaner/crisp than color photography, no doubt. Its alot more dramatic as well. I cant wait to see all that youre going to upload during her school year/photo class.

She ask me where wanted it, and I told her either on my shoulder blade or my ankle, I guess I have some time to decide.
Good photo's Rosalie, I love black and white it looks classier, I think she will do really well in photography.

I've got the date marked on my calandar--April Fools Day @ 2:30pm; I guess here where I am that will be 10:30pm March 31 (youre 16hrs ahead of me, correct?).
MarthaB
02-11-2006, 12:47 PM
:) Diana, yep I think it's about 15 or 16 hours, I thought they are all going to think, yeahhhh right april fools day, but it happened to turn out that way, I was even kidding with the woman in the shop, I said to her '' is the shop going to be closed when I turn up for my appointment because it's april fools day?'' she said no because it stops around 12 0'clock noon, after that the jokes are bad luck.
I am looking forward to it, she said the pain is not as bad as most people think.
She has both her arms tattood from the elbow up and even under her armpit, her bottom part of her legs as well.
What do you think about the price??
Martha :)
dg2901
02-11-2006, 01:22 PM
The price is comparable to the prices here. How big is the tattoo? The crab tattoo that I have is about 2 inches wide by about 1.5 inches tall; was taken from a stencil; took the guy about 20 minutes to complete, and I paid $55 plus I tipped him $10. This was about 6 years ago. A friend of mine got a tattoo of Happy Bunny (a sarcastic cartoon rabbit) on her upper arm about a year ago; its about 3-4 inches tall, about 3 inches across, outlined black, filled in white (though white is almost impossible to keep on the skin she went ahead with it anyway and sure enough it completely faded out), with a pink nose, and she paid $150. My neice who lives in California has her right leg tattooed from the knee down, one on her lower back, one on 2 of her toes, and one around her ankle; she's got tons of money tied up in them even though a friend of hers did them for her. It seems the prices vary a bit from place to place and from artist to artist. While in Las Vegas last summer I was going to have the chili pepper tattoo done at the Palms Hotel by a world-reknowned artist but he wanted a fortune, and I even had a $50 coupon!.haha. I figured he's not going to do any better than the artists in my area so forget it..hahaha.
All this talk makes me want to go ahead and get that litle chili pepper done..
Make sure somebody takes pictures of you arriving at the parlor, sitting in the chair, discussing the tattoo's location, getting prepped, and enduring the procedure..hahaahahahhhaha..cause I WANNA SEE!

Guinea pigs, yes I think it would be a good pet for your daughter (who's very beautiful, by the way). Just remember, YOU will be the one cleaning the cage! They're very sweet little creatures.
Butterfly bushes - NO maintenance!!! If anything requires maintenance, then it doesn't grow in my yard. Just remember that they get big! Mine are 2 years old & are 6 feet tall!

:) Ahaaaaaa, you have a sadistic side to you hey Diana??
I should have the digital camera out by then, so we can take lots of photo's to show you, .....I agree there is definately a big price range from place to place, my daughter got hers done down the Gold coast, and she paid quite a bit more for hers, because a lot of tourist go there and they are sucking them dry.
http://www.gold-coast.net/photos/index.html
lucky we don't tip tatooist here, it's not really the done thing, I think the crab I am going to get is about the same size as yours, she told me to find a pic on the web, print it out and then put it on my shoulder or ankle to see what I like best.
Hey D, what is your starsign??

Yeesh, I miss one day (oops, maybe 2) and yikes! Lots of catching up to do!! LOL!!
Yeah, Diana, that one of Missy on the floor just happened. I was sitting at my desk, looked behind me and there she was "sunning" herself by the apple basket. She's a buggar to get a pic of, as when you get down to her level, she's thinks she's going to get petting, so she comes running over to you, lol. Cali was easy, she loved to "pose", hee hee.
Rosalie, I love her pics!!! So much fun, I wish I'd had an opportunity like that at school, no where up here to do that sort of thing, no fun living in the sticks that's for sure! (well, when it comes to wanting to do something). I have at least 16 rolls of film to take in and get developed. I guess I'd better get started. I can snap them faster than I can pay for them...I know I have a ton more cat pics and some scenery shots, ugh. Think I'll start taking in 2 a week....lmao!!! And I just love B&W shots, like we've said before everyone looks so "glamourous", lol!!!!
Oh Janie! I love the snow pics, lol, seeing the snow reminds me of here, lol. Wish I could enjoy it like when I was a kid!!! :)
Karma, great pics! I love the G. Pigs! And Daisy saying hi cracked me up! The dogs are so cute too!! Oh, yeah, love the people as well, LMAO!!! :biglaugh: Leave it to me to "see" the critters first...lol

Tracey, you have to get into the digital photography. You don't have to wait or pay for developing, just wack them onto the computer and away you go. Just remember to check that the batteries aren't flat like I did yesterday. I went to a bbq party at my girlfriends house in the country and FLAT battery! Buggar! And it was such a gorgeous day! :headbang:
The pommie relatives were snapping away merrily so I just asked them to email me some when they get home. I LOVE all this electronic stuff.
Martha, I await your tattoo experience. All this talk is making me think I will get mine done too. But I will hear what you have to say about the pain first, especially as it will be fresh in your mind.
And D, Hillz got snap happy yesterday with the new camera and will develop them as soon as she can get time in the photolab. She seemed very pleased with the camera although it has so many functions it may take a little getting used to.

For us, they stay generally where they are put, they don't argue back(at least not with any arguement that we can't still beat), they don't cost as much to run and they don't ask to stay out till one in the morning.

Oh my Martha they are so adorable!!! What a couple of cuties!!!!
Hee hee, Rosalie, I do have the digital, I am hooked on all things photography, lol. The next toy I want is a digital SLR like my standard Minolta SLR. The one I want is about 1000.00 dollars....so that's still a bit off into the future...LOL. I still like to play with my standard camera, there's always something fun about getting film back after having it developed, it's like Christmas! ;)
Off to do dishes....blech.

:) thanks Rosalie, I love that photo, they look so innocent, I have another photo of Tim and he has this devilish grin on his face, you could tell he was thinking up something really naughty,.... but these 2 kids are so close, they could fight like cats and dogs, but if one of them would be sick, the other would hover over them constantly and asking '' are you allright sissy?? or are you allright Timmy? funny, I miss those days, ah well maybe I will have a grand child in the near future, I can only hope, Kim and I ( kim is David's mum) have already discussed babysitting schedules, haha....
The last time we went to maleny I spotted the most gorgeous baby clothes, with beatrix potter stuff on it, you know peter rabbit etc, love it, but I restrained myself and didn't buy anything.
I just have to be patient!

Hello there Dreamcatcher, nice to see you here on the craft section. We look forward to seeing some of your photos.
There are few posters here that I reckon are secretly professional photographers. If we ask nicely they will give us loads of information and we can give them plenty of cheek! LOL

I cant wait til ya'll down under post some pics!
LOL@sending them out in style..hahahahahaha..Theres another funeral home one block over from the one i posted that's almost as pretty. The picture I posted the 2nd and 3rd story used to be the owners living space. She recently sold the business and moved in with her daughter (she is in her 90's) so I dont know whats on the 2nd-3rd floors now. That whole area is a historic district with big home and mansions. I'll definitely have to take pictures--some of the homes are unbelievably huge! They circa back to the mid 1800's. Oh, and we do have fences here in VA..hahahaha..most people though just fence in their backyards (privacy fences--the first house in the last pic I posted has a privacy fence dividing his backyard and mine (i was standing in my driveway when I took that pic). When I see a house with a fence in the front yard I'll be sure to capture it...hahahahaha...
Now since I didnt take up tooooooo much space and freak out the system i'm posting a few more that I took today...

I'm finding this all so fascinating. I recognize the Buddhist statue as I gave my sister a small one years ago. What do you mean by a 'mom and pop eatery'? Love the lawyers names LOL
And I'm not used to seeing bare trees. Aussie natives are generally evergreen.
Anyhoo, I just snapped these this afternoon. They're not particularly good shots but give you a bit of an idea of where I live.
So this is my house. And yes, the fence is a disgrace! But DH and I can't agree on what we want. Personally I would pull the bloody thing down! When he goes overseas in Sept that is exactly what is going to happen!

Ro', aside from the different flora your neighborhood looks very similar to one of the neighborhoods my brother used to live in in California--very interesting. And i agree, it looks soooooo nice and warm there! And everybody's got fences in their front yard..hahahaha.................The "mom and pop" reference is used to describe small one owner businesses. Here in the states those are few and far between because of all the big-box stores such as Walmart, Target, Kohls, etc. The picture i referred to is a little eatery that the guy opened a couple of years ago. He's retired and just wanted something to occupy him for a couple of hours per day.
Karma, you'd love the neighborhood where that funeral home is located. Its a historic district with the homes dating back to the 1800's. Homeowners have to keep them in period time--very expensive to say the least. I'll definitely take some pictures of some of those homes and post them--if not today, then tomorrow.
Tracey, as long as you have a photo program that's capable of stitching it shouldnt matter what type of camera the pictures come from.
You mentioned a boat--do ya'll own a boat? Husband and I keep talking about buying a small boat..not sure that I want the responsibility that comes along with it..

Dreamchaser, have you checked out Dianes instructions on how to post photos into your post? She taught me how to do it and if I can follow the instructions anyone can!
D, I can see that you have joined pictures but how do you get that panoramic aspect in the others?
As for scary weather Tracey,we don't get tornados or hurricanes or cyclones except for up north. On Christmas Eve 1974 a fierce cyclone called Tracy ...yep it really was.. wiped out Darwin, the capital of the Northern Territory in the Top End. www.ntlib.nt.gov.au/tracy
Martha could probably jump in here as they get the cyclonic weather in Brisbane too.
But in Victoria its the winds in spring and autumn that can get a bit hairy.
The 'Roaring Forties' are the winds that race accross the Southern Ocean and effect the southern states of Australia.
We don't get earthquakes either. After watching news of global disasters, my kids would comment how safe they felt living here. And by the way, Melbourne has been stated as being one of the most livable cities in the world. So, come on down....but just you lot...don't too many clogging up the swimming pools and trams!
dg2901
02-16-2006, 04:22 PM
DC--there are instructions a few pages back on how to get pictures on here; if not mistaken its on page one or two of this thread. If you follow them and still have trouble one of us will be glad to help you out..haha..
Ro', the panaramas shots are done by taking a series of photos of the subject, moving the camera to 50% overlap of the previous picture. Once downloaded to the computer one of my photo programs has a "photo stitch" option--you tell the program what pictures youre going to "stitch", arrange them in the order in which you want them stitched (horizontal, vertical, etc), then the program puts them together to form the panarama. Most, if not all, of the newer cameras and photo programs come with this capability. I love my panaramas..hahaha..
Martha, "stitching" is what the camera and photo programs call it when pictures are taken and turned (stitched) into a panarama shot.
Now i must go upload the couple of pictures I took today of my house/property and i'll be back to post them..
til then

Diane, what a neat house you have and such an enormous back yard. You could fit a swimming pool in there and probably a tennis court to boot!
In the street picture I noticed the grass is brown. Winter here finds the grass green and its in summer that it burns off. Its interesting that California looks like Melb. I've heard that you grow a lot of eucalypts (Gum trees)in California. I guess the climate is very similar as well. But your streetscape is SO different to mine!
Karma what is the plant growing over the arch? It must be quite vigorous to grow that much in the spring.I know I keep saying it, but the snowscapes are fascinating. Your yards change so much with the seasons.
And what about those little guinea pigs, they look so comical it makes me laugh just looking at them.
Tracey and Martha are conspicuously absent with their photos.....come on....show us your place, and you too Karma!
What is the most arty picture you have ever taken? When I was a chicky I took hundreds of pickies just to get that one photo that was really different. So trawl through you albums and show how clever you all are!

I would take a pic of my house, but I don't want to go outside today. It's 15 degrees! Brrrrrrrr! A low of 40 I could definitely handle!
The plant growing over my arch is a honeysuckle. Yes, they grow like crazy & smell sooooo good when they bloom!

PS. I spent a lot of time last night updating my photobucket. I added a lot of pictures, so have a look if you want.

:)I really love every ones photo's, I love the snow photo's and the ones without, I will put some photo's up, but I will have to borrow my friend's camera again, because mine is still on lay-away, but it aint gonna happen today, I just checked in quickly and then it's back to my heat bag, It's too bloody hot for a heat bag, but it works, this is my 3rd rotten day, so maybe tomorrow I hope will be better!
I love that honeysuckle climber, it was my mum's favourite flower, apart from the freesia, I used to have a honeysuckle years ago but it died, I might try again, and I wouldn't mind some of those butterfly bushes, my backyard is already full with plants, but I will try and cramp some more in.

Martha, bummer that youre still feeling poorly! Hopefully by tomorrow you'll be feeling a bit more like yourself.
On the fence across our backyard (all the way in the back) are honeysuckle bushes. They grow the length of the fence back there every spring/summer--and they smell wonderful. We also have a wild berry tree back there (i believe theyre some sort of wild blueberry) that produce some wonderfully sweet fruit in the summer months. Now if i could only get the rose garden that I've been wanting planted this spring I'll be set. Oh, and cant forgot those butterfly bushes so i can coax those critters back from Karmas yard..hahaha.
Ro' along with the boat we keep talking about putting in a pool; that talk stopped when we found out the cost!..yikes!!!!!!!! Like Tracey said about the boat--the best pool is someone else's..hahahaha. And I'd love to have a tennis court back there..how nice would that be...????!! Plus theres no maintenance involved!..woohoo!!. When we get the inkling to play tennis we go up to the middle school and use thost courts--its only 2 blocks up the street.
Tonite we hopped in the car to go buy some stamps--pissant hubby and I--and I took my camera with me to take some pictures of the old homes in the historic district, only to have the Honda's steering wheel go berzerk. It's making a noise as if its getting ready to fall completely off--a sticking, crackling, rubbing, scratching kind of sound. So we made it only to the convenience store to buy stamps and then to the mailbox. Hubby drove it to work, hopefully w/o incident, and is taking it to the dealer to have it checked out and fixed in the morning. The car's only 2 years old this month so we're quite ****** at this, needless to say!! :cussing: :cussing: :headbang:
Hopefully it'll be a quick fix and we'll all back to being the happy stress-free family that we are by tomorrow afternoon..hahahhahaha..and i'll be able to go take some more around-town pics!

Karma, i just went back and checked out your pics at photobucket. Is that lake with all the sailboats near you? Looks very relaxing, regardless! If Tracey knew how to navigate she could come visit..LOL...And I just noticed the little gecko on your microwave--too cute..haha..I meant to ask you, do your guinea pigs get along with the dogs? I hope so!
Tracey!--come get me and take me for a spin on your partially owned boat..haha..I'm sure with Ro's directions you could make it to either the Elizabeth river, the Chesapeake Bay, the Atlantic Ocean, or the Intercoastal waterway..i'll be waiting..just honk the boats horn when you've arrived! I'll bring the beer!

Thanks for the new photos Karma. I especially liked the one of the sailboats on lake Jacomo it looks a lot like the inlets around Syndey And your tattoo...another brave girl. Martha has signed up for one as well...me? I'm still procrastinating!
Tracey, your house looks like a fairy cottage, its so cute. You do look like you are out in the middle of the bush.
D, thats a buggar about your car. I hope it gets sorted out very soon. I want more photos. Did you read my bit about people putting up artistic shots? I really like your pic of the lemons in the glass jar.
Oh Martha, I am so sorry that you are in pain today. I hope you feel better very very soon :kissing:
Sometime next week, I am going to get out all my photo albums and trawl though them for photos for Campbell's 21st birthday party in July. I am going to scrapbook an album as a signature keepsake.
I might even go back into some really old ones from before marriage....you know...when I was a real person! And find some from my days at RMIT and Fine Arts Degree course that I didn't finish! Buggar, buggar, buggar!!!!!!! :headbang:

D, I didn't know what you were talking about - "gecko on the microwave". I had to go back & look at my pics! I was hoping that there wasn't a lizard that moved in without my permission! I found the pic you are talking about. That was a few years ago & my kitchen is totally different now (as well as I). The gecko was a fast food toy that one of my daughter's got & I just stuck it up there. Sorry about your car.
The lake with the sailboats is about a mile from my house. That's where the buffalo & elk are too. I love it there! The park alone is 7800 acres & that's not counting the lake! They have a small village from the 1800's restored there & they have workers who dress up in that period's clothing & they have a blacksmith there working & all kinds of really cool things going on. My husband & I had our wedding in the old church in that village. It was a small log cabin with the pot-bellied stove right in the middle. I'll have to take some pictures of the village sometime (but not until summer). They charge admission to get in, but if I tell them that I was married there then they'll let me in for free. :)
Yes, the dogs get along with the pigs. They actually play together.

Ro' that pic of the lemons in the jar (not sure if theres a caption on it) was taken in the lobby of the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas. I wish the glare wasnt so noticeble-it would have been a really cool picture. If there wouldnt have been so many people coming and going I probably could have maneuvered into a position to ward off the glare--that place is crazy busy!
As far as artistic photos---hmm..i dont have any..LOL Artsy has never been my forte'. I bet you've got some creative pictures in your collection seeing that youre so creative. Make sure you post them if you come across any while rummaging through your albums.

Directions posted earlier by Karma on how to post a pic:
"To post a pic:
In your reply, click the "Insert Hyperlink" button. It's the world one - 3rd from the right. The 1st prompt is what you want to call your link (can cancel) & the 2nd prompt is where you put in the website address of the pic you want to post. Does that make sense?"
Hope that helps

Thanks guys!!! It's slowly but surely "changing" hubby and I are trying to make it "his and Mine" instead of "Me and my ex-husband's" LMAO!!! I decided today that I need to be very wealthy to do all things I would like to do...damn that HGTV..... :)
We just planted some transplant honeysuckle from my in-laws, I hope it does well! Just put it in last year...keeping fingers crossed! I haven't taken any pictures of the backyard - yet. We refer to it as Wild Kingdom, lol. It's a brush nightmare. Going to rent a chipper this year to clean it up and get "free" mulch, and then start to figure out what we'd like to see back there... But first gotta clean it up, blech. The ex was never much into yard work, at all. Had a great big oak go down in a storm, and it was 2 years before cut up and gotten rid of--- by current husband!!!!
It's kind of countryish, I guess. I took some photos of my way into work after the big snow storm, still working on getting them up so I can post them. I should have had a disclaimer following me around "Do not attempt this, professional driver on a closed course" LMAO!! I was steering with one hand and picture snapping with the other...LOL
Off to go look at Karma's new additions.....

DreamChaser did you finally get the info you needed to post pictures?
Janie you have a beautiful house. What kind of farm does your SIL run? My hubby grew up on a farm growing crops of sorghum barley and other grain crops. They also ran a dairy herd of about 200. At different times they also had a piggery. Two of his brothers are still farming. One has a station in western Qld and the other took over the family property.
For those of you living with snow, it must be amazing watching spring change the landscape so dramatically.
Tracey, you have a beautiful drive to work! I live in the heart of suburbia and could drive for a hour in any direction and still be in the suburbs of Melbourne. It takes nearly two hours to get to my brothers place in Mt Martha and the built up area goes on after his place!
Martha, I'm so excited for you. Have you been snapping away with your new camera? My poor little 2mega pixel seem so outdated now. I'll have to get into Davids ear and give him the hurry up on buying one for his trip.

And Janies house and her sis in laws farm-amazing! And Tracey risking life and limb to show us her snowy neighborhood..hahaha..

Rosalie,
Tennessee Walking Horses are a gaited breed like Paso Finos, Peruvian Pasos, etc. They are mainly used for pleasure and trail riding and for showing. I owned a Tennessee Walker for about a year and a half when we lived in Hawaii (My husband was in the Navy).
Here is a photo of my Tennessee Walker-

My favorite breed of horse are Arabians. I also owned a couple of Paso Finos when we lived in Puerto Rico and I really like that breed also. I haven't ridden in about 7 years. Wish I could get a well trained pony for my daughter but not sure I have the energy and am well enough to take care of one.

They say you can find art all around you! I hadn't thought of looking for it in barker's eggs too! I nearly sprayed my drink all over the screen when I realized what it was! LOL
Martha, that is a wonderful photo of your family. Were they all dressed up for a particular occassion? And do you have one of yourself in the full costume? I'd love to see that! I gather there was no love lost between you and you BIL!
Many congrats on your new camera too. The gnomes and fairies in your garden are very cute. But do you have any problems with them straying?
I am still working my way through photos and scanning them onto the PC so I can play around with them before I put them into an album.
I lost all my digital photos from 2003 to 2004 in the great computer crash of 2004? I've emailed my shutterbug niece for anything she has. Now I have an external drive so that shouldn't happen again.

Martha, I'm diggin' the layout of your yard..its looks very calming, almost sanctuary-like. Do you spend much time lounging in the yard?
RE: the house explosion pics--that was in a neighborhood about a mile from my house-this happened Saturday. Some sort of pressure had built up (possibly natural gas) and caused the explosion. Witnesses said 20 foot flames were shooting out of the windows and roof, and the house was blown several feet off its foundation. Fortunately the people who live there werent home.
I'm going to be out of camera commission for a few days because stupid me broke my memory card..ugh! duh! doh! So now I have to search all the local stores to see who's got the best deal on them at the moment. Hopefully i'll be able to get out and get a new one within the next couple of days. Martha, I cant believe you asked me what a green mamba is..LOL..I learned it from watching Croc Hunter..hahahahaha (speaking of good 'ol Steve, the ones of him you posted-did you take those?)..Heres some info regarding the mambas (they also come in the black variety)...
General Information:
These beautiful fast-moving snakes are highly venomous, but less aggressive than black mambas. Mambas are elapids, with short front fangs and the venom is primarily neurotoxic. Digestion of prey is also aided by the venom. Green mambas are arboreal and hunt during the day for birds, frogs, lizards, rodents or other small mammals. They will hunt on the ground if suitable prey cannot be found in the trees. When disturbed or threatened, mambas prefer to flee, moving at speeds up to 7 mph, but will strike when cornered. Mambas can live up to 14 years in captivity.
Black Mamba - The Predator
Black mamba's are aggressive snakes that spring up to strike. Black mambas also go after birds - and they're good at it. One mamba even had a parrot inside its stomach. After biting their prey, black mambas leave it to die. The venom is strong enough to kill prey in a matter of minutes so the snakes don't have to wait long for their meal. For humans, the wait could be up to four hours till death. Black mambas devour their food whole. They can fit food up to four times the size of their head into their mouth and will even dislocate their lower jaw in order to cram more food in.
I found that theyre native to Africa however I've seen Mr Irwin go after them on his Croc Hunter show. Now i'm a bit confused...wonder if he was on location or if the Aussie government is keeping this information from its citizens..hahahhahaahha

I love sculpure and Martha, your daughter is very talented. I don't doublt that she would be able to sell her pieces. And I think that photo of you is very dramatic, but I think the snake looks pretty scared too.LOL.
My dad used to say whenever we spotted a snake "He's more affraid of you than you are of him!" Yeah! right....NOT!
Also Martha, how nice of cousin Steve to home when you dropped in. When we were there a few years back, he had nicked off somewhere! But, by golly! his restaurant served up some pretty good tucker.

:) Rosalie, I had a look at Janie's photo's about a week ago, they are beautiful and well worth a look,.....hubbie told me last night that the snake was terrified of me because I hung on so tight, haha, I wasn't going to let him loose and get me!!, I think this was only my 2nd week in australia and had never seen a real snake in my life, I was terrified but determined to have a go at holding one.

Janie, thankyou for sharing you family photos with me. Your daughter is just adorable. Its easy to see that she is treasured. I love the Tinker bell shots. Did you make the costume? The colours suit Maggie beautifully!

Rosalie,
Thanks for your nice comments on my daughter's photos. Yes, she is definitely our treasure. We waited until late in life to become parents so she is absolutely everything to us! The tinkerbell costume is from the Disney store. Do you guys have those in your malls in australia?
Martha, are you not from australia originally? If not where are you from?
I still love that snake photo - you look like quite a snake charmer to me!

Oh, Wow! I love the Amsterdam pics Martha! I would love to go there someday, but that's kinda difficult when I'm scared to death of flying!
Here's a pic of downtown Kansas City. It's not the best quality, as I tried to take the picture while driving last night.

Hi Martha,
Nice to see you in the photo! You're very pretty!
I got to visit Amsterdam once when I was a young teen ager. We also got to see Ann Frank's house - actually we saw it from the outside during one of those canal boat rides but it was really special to me to get to see it. I had just read The Diary of Ann Frank.
I'm glad you got to go back to Holland to see your family and especially, your dad. I know that must have meant a lot to him.
Rosalie
02-22-2006, 11:23 AM
Martha, I love the photos of Amsterdam. What was it like going back for you? After 21 years, was your Dutch rusty? Would you ever want to go back there to live? Oh, by the way you can't anyway...we won't let you!
Karma, what are the towers in your photo?
MarthaB
02-22-2006, 12:48 PM
:) Karma, I know what you mean about flying, and because I went just after the 9/11 disaster it really worried me, it was all so fresh in every ones mind, I had to take 3 planes, from australia to singapore, from singapore to frankfurt germany, and the last plane was only small because it's only 1 hour flight from germany to holland, phewww long trip.
Janie, I have seen a few different versions of Anne Franks diary, and I have also read the book, the house inside is very freaky, I went through her bedroom and the pictures she put on the wall of the moviestars of that time are still there, covered with a thick plastic sheet, so people can't damage it!, everything is there just as it says in the book, very eerie!
Rosalie, my dutch was pretty rusty, I could not hold a full conversation without loosing a few words here and there, I only read and write dutch when the fam sends me e-mails, I am in contact with my bro just about everyday, and no I wouldn't go back to live, I felt like a tourist when I went back to holland, so much has changed.

Flying is perfectly safe--fly away people!..haha..i love flying. I was on a plane a few days before the 9/11 catastrophe; while it was a little unnerving I didnt let it frighten me and was back flying a few months later...How else are you gonna get to where you wanna go...?
So whats the weather like in Amsterdam? I heard its cold most of the year..is that true?
Hey Karma, are you taking after Tracey now---shooting and driving at the same time?..haha..And what Ro' said--what are the towering figures in the picture?-its hard to tell with all the action zooming by..hahaha.
Pissant husband went out tonite and bought a new CF card for the camera. I've been in such a mood the past few days that I havent even got the gumption to put it in the camera to make sure it works...oh well..maybe tomorrow. Of course I had the perfect photo-op when I came into the computer room tonite-----cat puke!...ugggggh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!..anybody want a cat?..its yours for a mere $600..cats stink!

The towers in the picture are from a building called "Bartle Hall" which is a convention center. They have car shows, lawn & garden shows, corporate conventions, etc. there. The interstate runs underneath the building. Here's a better picture of it (one that I didn't take):

Yes, I am learning from the best (Tracey) when it comes to drive-by shootings! :biglaugh:
You all can try to talk me into flying all you want - it won't work! My mother-in-law is a flight attendant & my father-in-law is a captain for a major airline. If they can't talk me into it then sadly, there's no hope for me. I've never been on an airplane in my life & don't plan on it. Do you all ever have gut feelings that tell you not to do something? Well, I have that feeling when it comes to flying. Something just keeps telling me that I'm not supposed to. Maybe it's the fact that I don't have wings? :biglaugh:
I read the Anne Frank book when I was younger & I would love to see the house! I bet it sure was creepy! The history there is so intense!
No thanks on the cat! LOL! I'm full of pets as it is!

02-22-2006, 04:53 PM
cat puke . . . I sure don't miss it. We had to put our kitty of 14 years to sleep a few years back (poor thing had IC) but she was always hacking up a fur ball or worse. I loved my kitty but I have to say, I sure don't miss all the kitty fur, litter box and cat puke!

LMAO!! I about spit my peppermint tea out of my nose on the drive-by shootings Karma! That cracked me up, lol. We are going to start reading about a rash of accidents involving women with IC, cameras and the cars they are driving while using the cameras!!! LMAO! :biglaugh:
Oh yeah, the story of Anne Frank has always fascinated me, read it when I was pretty young - probably at the same age she was when she wrote it and it still makes me cry. So very very sad. I would love to see her house, and get to tour it, like Karma said, the history is so intense.
Oooooh, I am not a big fan of flying either. I suppose to get the places I want to visit, I'll have to someday, but doesn't mean I have to like it...lol...
Looks like I'll have to wait until I get back from my Birthday Weekend, Sunday to get some more pics posted, I am beat tonight and trying to get laundry done and some packing yet before bed..ugh. Hubby is an impatient traveller, he's fine once we are on the road, but before then - he drives me insane. For our Wedding Open House (reception) mom-in-law bought me my outfit, and great white blouse and black pants. I left the pants with her to get altered, but brought the blouse home. He had me so rattled in "come on, are you ready yets" that I forgot the blouse!! I made him pay though, I made him take me back to the store where I bought it - and buy me another just like it!! LMAO!!! :biglaugh:
Ok, off to bed and laundry for me!!!
Hugs!

Diana, it gets pretty cold in the winter, with snow and all but summertime is really pleasant, not too hot or cold, we do get the occasional heatwave, but they only last a couple of days and they don't happen often,..... and by the way that is a no-no for the cat, my dog would eat it, or maybe the other way around, hahaaaa

Another woman caught-crime?--drive by shooting. Tried, convicted, and sentenced to time served--have mercy on my bladder your honor!
Darn, I was hoping i'd have a taker on the cat. This cat has been the most expensive FREE cat i've ever seen! This past July he woke up one morning extremely ill. Took him to the vet to find out he had total urinary blockages..lovely..$400+ and several hours later we had him home. Had him neutered a couple weeks ago to the tune of almost $200..gee whiz!!! only for him to hack up whenever and whatever he feels like in the pc room. Of course nobody came in here today so I got to find it and clean it up at 9:45pm! Then the little butthead has the nerve to come in here begging for a piece of chicken...the nerve! I'd like to get rid of him (as in find him a new home) however now that we've sunk so much money into him theres no way he's going anywhere w/o a heftvy price tag attached..haha. Plus it would hurt Meatball's feelings if we got rid of her chase toy..haha.Where the living room and hallway meet is the boundary lines--the cat doesnt come into the living room w/o suffering the consequences (getting chased, snapped at, etc) and the dog doesnt come down the hall w/o paying the same (the cat hisses, smacks, spits, and puffs his fur up to make himself look bigger)..haha..
Why is it that all convention centers looks so artsy-fartsy? The new one they built in Va Beach is the same way--almost to the point of being ugly (not like the old one was any better). I'll have to get a pic..haha..imagine that!
Oh, and Ro' I meant to tell you regarding your response about you being surprised that ya'll dont know what type of toilet paper I use--pissant hubby just took a picture of the cat sitting on the toilet and the toilet paper is visible..ahhahaha..maybe i'll post it..however you'll have to excuse the rusty vent cover on the wall..*note to self--go buy a new vent cover for the bathroom...........

Martha, I love your pics of Holland! Funny how when in Oz you look Aussie and when in Holland you look Dutch. Wierd Huh?
I'd hoped to show you some of Hillz pics from her school interhouse swimming carnival today. All the year 12 girls traditionally dress in costumes in their house colours. I dropped her off at the meeting place, McDonalds...where else?.. at 7.30 this morning and struth! what a sight!
Hillz was in green Tshirt green satin boxers and green tutu with black docs!
Anyway she lost all the photos she took over the day...I think someone else had been allowed to use the camera!
her friend will email some over so I'll post if they are any good. I could have done with the digital today as I travelled up country to lunch with two girlfriends. It was a beautiful place well worthy of some photographs.
I need to snap some of the Melbournian sights for you all. Is there anything you would like to see?
And I'm with you on the convention centres. We have a huge one in Melbourne for home, car, craft etc shows. It is so big and pretty ugly its known as Jeff's Shed, after the premier at the time..he was big on development at any cost..in this case...good taste!

The school is divided into "houses" for competitions etc. Hillz house is green and called 'Cuthbert' after Betty Cuthbert a famous athelete over here ...being an all girls school all the houses are named after famous women. Anyway they have a swimming competition within the school in Summer and an athletics one in winter.
Don't your schools have sports competitions?

great photo of Campbell holding the bridge!
Karma, I went out yesterday to get myself a butterfly bush, turns out they got about 3 varieties, yours is a creeper right?? none of these were, I may have to go to another bigger nursery, but I did buy a beautiful plant, its name is '' red rover'' it's a banksia, it gets beautiful bright red flower spikes, and it attracts birds, I'm a real sucker for australian natives, I love them, they are easy to look after, and produce some of the most beautiful flowers ever seen.

Ok people..haha..I am a night owl, somewhat by choice, otherwise by circumstance. My sleep pattern is from 4-7am, then from 930am-330pm.
As far as the trains are concerned, I hear them but theyre not bothersome. Where they hook-up (Norfolk Southern Railroad) is right behind my house so that gets extremely loud with them banging into the cars in order to get them hooked--the whole house rattles during that time; it sounds like explosions. I was raised in this house, moved down the street at age 19, got married and moved to Va Beach from age 21-30, then back into this house. I must say though the few years that I was away from trains (very few tracks in Va Beach) was nice and quiet..hahaha...
I love everyones flowers pics! And that one you bought Martha is cool!

Martha, I'm a sucker for Aussie natives as well. They do so much better with the water restrictions. And I can smell the frangipanni. It has the most heavenly scent.
Diane, you must be a sight trawling the neighbourhood snapping here and there! Do you wear sunnies and a trenchcoat?
Butt Street! Very funny. There is a creek in Qld called Bum Bum! Must get a snap! The houses look like something straight out of an American movie.
OK And why do yo call the bloke "pissant"? I am assuming that it has the same meaning as it does here. Is he in the bad books at the moment?

Isnt it funny as adults we still find humor in the most juvenile situations..haha..Ro' you must get a pic of Bum Bum Creek..haha..i'd love to see!
I decided to take my camera with me as we went to the post office to mail bills. Figured there'd be nobody coming and going on the streets we'd be on--WRONG!!! Every darn street we went down there was somebody coming from the other direction, coming up behind us and of course too stupid to go around, people turning in our direction, stopping in the view of my shot, etc etc etc. I was SOOOOOOO irritated by the time I had finished taking these few pics...ugggh!!!. Oh, and by the way, I still had on my lounge pants..haha..an old blue surf shop tshirt, a blue sweat jacket, black lounge pants with red chili peppers and writing all over them, and my bright orange Crocs clogs..maybe thats why people were everywhere we went--to see where the hell the clown was coming from and what the heck could she be doing!!!..News Flash--BumBum the Funny Clown is on the loose from Ringling Bros circus (which by the way is currently in town).. :biglaugh:
And the old "bloke" stays on my bad book list...he IRRITATES me to no end ALL DAY EVERYDAY!!!!! I wont say anymore than that :cussing: :headbang:
Well I must go head for bed--a whole 1.5 hours early. The son is going to take his drivers test tomorrow afternoon so I have to make sure i'm awake in time enough to pick him up from school. Everybody cross their fingers that he passes it--seems a couple of his friends recently went to take the test and failed.
Til next time...

Yeah, good luck to the Diane clone. I hope he passes his test. Does it cost much for him to take the test? I can be quite expensive here if the offspring keep failing! Believe me I know!

Rosalie,
No I was able to start uploading photos right away to Photo Bucket. hhhhhhm. Maybe try again to register for it?
d - Love all the photos from around the "hood". Got a big kick out of the Butt street one. There is a street in my town that is aptly named to go with Butt street and I'm going to take a photo of the street sign today - look for it later!:evilsmile
Ok, here's my street sign to go alog with D's Butt street:

Sorry, just had to indulge my juvenile side a bit too!

:biglaugh: Those street signs are hilarious! You all must have too many streets if they had to start naming them things like that!
Peonies - I LOVE PEONIES! I planted some last spring. I heard it takes a couple years before they really come up though. Is that true?
Martha, that flower is beautiful! I love the yellow & white!
Those seagulls are really cool too. I would love to watch them all day. I've been seeing a lot of seagulls here in Missouri lately. I don't think that's right. I'm not sure that they're supposed to be here. I mean, I'm pretty darn far away from any seas. They're definitely not native!
Bum Bum Creek. Well, that got me to thinking about a creek near my hometown. I always wanted to take a picture of it because it's name is rather strange. The sign reads "No Creek". :hmm:

Karma,
I don't know too much about Peonies. I planted them one year and I think this picture was taken the following year, but after that they didn't come up again. :-( I'll have to try planting some more this year.
Wow, seagulls in Missouri! Poor things are far, far from home and confused ,I guess!

Ro' to answer your question re: the drivers test..
Here in VA you can apply for your learners permit at age 15.5. In 10th grade physical education class drivers ed is also taught. This includes book instruction, simulator instruction (once the student has the learners permit), then after successfully completing the simulator students are then taken for on the road instruction with a drivers ed teacher. After the student has held the learners permit for 9 months and has successfully completed/passed drivers education (this can also be done through the DMV (dept of motor vehicles) the student is then taken on the road by an instructor and given a road test (student has to follow commands using proper driving techniques); if passed the student is then issued a 90 provisional license. This has to be held for 3 months then the student has to appear in court before a judge for a lecture and then, barring there hasnt been any incidents--tickets, at fault accidents, etc--the student is issued a standard unrestricted license. The fee for the road instruction given through the school system is $70 (given through the DMV $200) and the learners permit fee is $20.

Could he look any happier? or is he being tres cool?
I can't get over what a clone of you he is Diane. David says that Campbell and I are clones...I take it as a compliment.
The kids in Victoria can get their learners at 16 but cannot go for their license until 18. They then are on a probationary license for 3 years and have to display a red P in the windscreen. We also have a points system here whereby you loose a certain number of points for driving infringements. P platers only get 5 points for the 3 probationary years. My darling son lost 3 in one hit for speeding! :headbang:
I have registered in photobucket but I can't log on.They have resent my my user and password and after an email to them confirmed that I have it right. Their FAQ gave me some other hints and I have done them but still no go! :cussing:
I don't know what to do now. Did anyone else have any trouble?

Martha's been hard at work!..woohoo!..hahaha!
Is that waterfront like a resort area or mainly a local hangout? It looks so warm and inviting right about now, as I sit here with my heat on.
I'm loving that house-is it someones private home? At the VA Beach oceanfront its all resort area--hotels, hotels, and more hotels with restaurants thrown in for good measure. Once it warms up enough to tolerate the ocean winds I'll be sure to get some pics--nothing prettier than the green-brown Atlantic Ocean.. :biglaugh:
And imagine that!--there are seagulls in OZ!..hahaha..do they squawk with an Australian accent?..hehe..
Hey, and ya'll have 7/11's!!.. :woohoo: . We live on Slurpee's during the summertime--keep the stores in business! We have 2 within a mile of our house. Our house in Va Beach there was one right behind us--very convenient! And there's nothing better to go along with a Slurpee than a good 7/11 hotdog!!..yumm! yumm!!!..hahaha
Ro', my son never smiles for the camera. I forgot to take the camera with me when we took him to get his permit <darn!> so I made sure when we got home to grab the camera before he got too far away..haha..I said "you want me to take your picture with you holding up your permit?"..he said "no"..I said "too bad, hold up your permit and stand still"..hahaha..Arent momma's funny!?!..hehe..Then he proceeded on about his business (went to some club at the beach to listen to his friend's band play).
I just noticed Tracey hasnt posted any pictures since her drive to work pics..haha..wonder what she's up to...? Hope she didnt get locked up for drive-by shooting... :hmm:

Hey Martha, where was that pic taken, a convenience store?
And what is the Golden Casket?..haha..or do I want to know?
MarthaB
02-24-2006, 08:15 PM
:) D, that's the newsagency we go to all the time, it's inside the shopping mall, Golden casket is a lottery ticket.
The pics of the water is not a resort, it's like a hangout, lots of people come here for barbeques and we got a water playground, unfortunately the water has been turned of because of the waterrestrictions, and yes the seagulls speak the aussie lingo, haha, they greet you with a ''gidday mate'' hahaa,
we have lots of little cafe's there and plenty of accomodation.
We have lots of slurpees from our 7-eleven, it's pretty handy to have close by.
D, i think Tracey mentioned going away for the weekend, it was her birthday on the 24th.

Thanks for the info Martha!
That waterfront sounds like a cool place to hangout! Do you get to enjoy it often? I guess its not the same when theres a water restriction.
I missed this being Tracey's birthday..thanks for letting me know. Did she say where she snuck off to? Maybe she'll have pictures..haha..
