Hyster only 2 wks after cysto/hydro?

I am scheduled for a cysto/hydro tomorrow and then a hyster (TAH) on the 23rd. I am really scared. I have had a severe allergic reaction to BI 2.5 weeks ago that I am just now getting over (I swelled shut afterwards). I am petrified of what's going to happen tomorrow. Will the pain be worse? I am reading too many posts that it will be.
Can I recover enough to have a hysterectomy done in 2 weeks? Will I suffer with severe IC after this surgery as well?
Any advice/info would be greatly appreciated.

We could have been buddies - I was originally scheduled for Feb 16th, but it got postponed after this reaction.
The doctor has mentioned Interstim to me, but wanted to do the cysto/hydro first. I have done a little research about it, but not enough to make an informed decision if it's offered to me. I read your story and sounds like you were really made to go through alot of hoops to finally get relief (hearing the tune "Cause I Am A Woman" in my head).
I just hope this procedure and the TAH doesn't do me in. Have you talked with anyone having the TAH with IC and how they've recovered?
I'll be thinking of you on the 17th and praying for a quick recovery!

I worked for an OBGYN for years and know what I am in for. I know it won't be easy but any relief I can get at this point I am so for it. I joked and told my family I was throwing abeer and pizza party the night before to celebrate and since I would be out the whole nexy day I wouldn't care about the major IC flare. email me anytime if you need anything, I am here usually through out the whole day off and on.

Leslie - well I made it through the cysto/hydro without much problems - I'm actually voiding on my own now - YEAH!!! I guess the hydro does help. He told me that I have moderate to severe IC and that I did have a small bladder (hubby forgot the number).
I too am up for ANYTHING that might help. And I here you on the celebration - I want some chocolate ice cream!!!! Except for one thing - you forgot the GO LYTELY the day before!!!! And it's anything but lightly - what a name!!!

Glad the hydro went well, hope the hysterectomy does also.Tigger gal and babsrn will be able to update for me for awhile to let you know how the TAH went!
