Low estradiol

Does anyone know a possible reason for low estradiol in a pre menopausal 37 year old. The other hormone level is okay. She is having heavy heavy periods, fatigue and hair loss. Any input would be appreciated.

i don't know, but i'm 20 and was diagnosed with atrophic vaginitis caused by low estrogen levels. this happens in post-menopausal women and why i would be having this ? my doctor gave me birth control to try to elevate my estrogen level. i also have ic.
