How much Diflucan is considered alot. How does your doctor prescibe. I see some stagger days and some take consecutive days. What do you think works best?
How much is too much? Can it hurt anything? When will a doctor say, you can't try that again?

I want to say HATS OFF to you ladies who deal with this all the time. Now I know that things most certainly can be worse! This is a whole problem of its own. Bless you!

ALSO...how do you not pass it with your partner, condom always? My husband will LOVE that! :) Does anyone else NOT see alot of discharge? That's one of the reasons I had no idea it was yeast. (didn't notice discharge and it's on my REAR rear end.) Thanks again. It can be scary to have something else new to you and weird, and (imagine this) resistant to treatment!

I haven't had much luck with Diflucan, even with multiple doses, but it does work for others. For some reason I've always had to ask/beg for a prescription of more than one dose when I did try it. I don't know why a doctor would not want to prescribe more than one, especially since I deal with chronic yeast infections. Usually mine are pretty low grade and with very little discharge...I know I have one when I feel the deep itch.

Questions about how much dosage is safe should be addressed to either a physician or a pharmacist. We can't really answer your question beyond reporting what we are taking. That said, I have never taken diflucan.

I've taken it many, many times... My doc has me stagger it so that I am taking one every 3 days. I think I've taken up to 4 doses that way.

Oh, and a good resource might be The Yeast Connection for Women. (Don't know if I have the title completely correct.) It's by a William Crooks, I believe. He used to have a website, as well - might have some answers. :)

I also had a "hidden" yeast infection - no itching, discharge...anything. However, my urethra felt like broken glass. He prescribed one Diflucan every four days for four treatments.

me too! the "hidden yeast infection" are a common thing for me...and so not IC friendly :(

At one time I was on a presciption for a 100 mg (I think) of Diflucan each day (I was also on antibiotic treatment so the struggle to find something that worked for me long term was a *%@

anyway, I think the hidden one is back atm so I feel for ya! :grouphug:

Usual Diflucan dose is 150 mg. It usually takes me 3-4 to get rid of it. Why these idiots only Rx one, like its Heroin or something I sure dont know.
