:) don't fret, Tracey we are here, hiding haha, I haven't seen D for a while either, Rosalie is around just about every day.
We put a digital camera on lay-by, lay away for you guys, same thing different name, LOL, and once we get it out there will be heaps of pics on here, it will be good if I have my own camera, instead of having to borrow it all the time.
Hey tracey you remember I told you about the box of border punches my husband got me a while ago???? well the other day I walked into my craft room, and there is another box of 26 miniature punches sitting on my desk, he put it there when he came home from work, I have a very thought full husband, so now and again I have to remember myself how lucky I am, I'm not saying he is a saint, he can be a royal pain in the ass too, but he has a really kind site to him.

Well, I am definitely glad to see one of the clan's doing well!! LOL Might you ask your hubby to write a book for the other neanderthals, something -- remember we could have cleavage and behinds as the background of the page....LMAO!!!
That is just so very cool!! Are they particular little images, or are they like just frilly fancy decorations???
Oh it will be so fun when you get a camera! Everybody better watch out!! ;) I have been slacking myself in that area, but dang -- now we've moved on to redecorating/remodeling the bedroom, the damn bathroom looks so nice, it's depressing to walk back into the icky old bedroom!! So, I guess been kinda busy around here, now that I think about it!! lol ;)
Ah glad to hear from you, missing you guys!! :)
Hugs!

:) tracey, I forgot about the book we were going to write, with all the cleavage and stuff, good memory!!
the punches have all different images on it, '' star, fish, frog, bear, umbrella, moon, sun, car, crab, angel, hand, foot, girl, boy, dolphin, elephant, butterfly, bug, leaf, tulip, boat, circle, rabbit, flower, etc, soooo cute.
Don't worry you will get back into things, it's hard with the renovating thing going on, I had the same thing going on in my house, so much dust, blew the vacuum cleaner up haha, once things settle down, you will have plenty of time to do your thing, what are you going to do with the bedroom?? I love interior decorating, it's the one thing I would of like to have done, I have books about it too, I have a lot of stuff, '' I collect everything, at the moment I collect those little swarovski crystal miniatures'' but people always tell me I have a knack of knowing how to put things together.
What colour are you going to put in your bedroom, I use lots of soft yellows and baby blue, very soothing, it's my sanctuary so it has to have calming colours, with the amount of colours availeble these days it can ce very tricky to choose just the right colour, lucky hubbie is a painter so I get it all done for free haha, and we get the paint on discount too.

You're right Bianchi - I am going with the no news is good news theory!! It's worked so far!!LOL ;)
Oh those punches sound so darn cute!!! I am sure you will have lots of fun with those!
I never forget something that might help woman-kind, lmao!!! Now, we just need to get him started....just have him record it, we could all pitch in and type it up...want to make this easy, lol.
Well, my upstairs has the slanted ceiling, due to the "chalet" style of the house. So, we are totally removing the closet that runs the full length of the wall, and putting a little closet at one end, and a little closet at the other, and leaving the middle open for the TV etc. I am going to take before pics, so I will have to post them, it's hard to explain. The bathroom is what I call a "spa" blue: blue with gray and a bit of green, it's really relaxing...and I have it accented with taupe, so I am painting the bedroom a taupe color with white trim. My duvet cover is a bluish gray sateen stripe, and my sheets are the taupe, so it will all kind of go together, the bath and the bedroom. I am more excited about getting the bedroom done. Hubby has some antique furniture (dresser and dressing table) that were his grandmother's, that are at his parent's yet, but he doesn't want to move them in, just to have to move them around to work, so hopefully........once we get the bedroom done I am hoping we can pick the stuff up. It's exactly pieces I have wanted for YEARS, but could never afford at an antique place! Good thing I saw it after we were married, or he'd think I married him just for the furniture!! LMAO!!!

G'day Y'all...
I have been around but only in short bursts lately. Martha, your husband is a real find..sounds like a keeper! I think I'll have to wait until my next lifetime to get one of those. Oh well! sigh............But he has been nicer lately cause I told him I was going to look for full time work. I'm sure he thinks I'm going to contribute to his overseas trip...two chances.... and Buckleys and Nunn have been closed for years!
I know it doesn't sound too grand but I'd love a job in a craft shop. Can you imagine being surrounded by all those bits and pieces all day! Heaven! Aaaaaaaaaaand staff discount!
Tracey, I love the colour scheme you have. Taupes and browns are definately the in colours at the moment.I have seen them put with pale turquoise and that is stunning.
I repainted my bedroom in Violet while DH was away last June . Perhaps not as popular but I love it.
And I have started a new project and will post under the "cross stitch thread"
Martha I have two of the swarovski crystal animals, a swan and a sparrow.
What kind of digital camera are you buying? At 2mega pixals mine is now so outdated. DH is buying himself a new one for his trip and, as he knows nothing about them, I am advising him on the one that I want..... one with a manual overide.

:) Hi Rosalie, thanks for the laugh this early in the morning, :biglaugh: he's got two chances, buckleys and nunn, hahaaaaaaaaaa that's funny, and what does DH stand for or do we have to use our imagination?? haha
That digital we got on lay-by has 6.1 megapixels and 3x optical zoom, 2.5'' LCD screen, can't wait to get it out, it was $400.00 down to $350.00 .
I love those little swarovski figurines, I gave tony a book with all the ones available, so he can choose for my birthday, I highlighted the ones I like, and most of them are around 70.00 dollars or less, so far I got a dog, carousal, mantelclock, dummy or pacifier, bear holding a bottle of champagne and glass, ( got that for my anniversary a few years back) egg timer, inkwell, and a vase with flowers.
You mentioned you got a crystal sparrow, and I realized we don't see anymore sparrows at all, I think those rotten miner birds chased them away, I know they chase all the rainbow lorrikeets away out of my garden, and the finches too, stinkers !!!!
What does manual over ride mean?? I am not very educated about cameras either, so we usually ask Tim, it seems the young ones know so much more about all that stuff, but hey I learn something new every day.
http://www.kmart.com.au/catalogue/20060202/large.asp?Keyword=&PageNumber=26
here you can see the camera from the catalogue.
Tracey, are the colours something like this??
http://www.kmart.com.au/catalogue/20060202/large.asp?Keyword=&PageNumber=4
I don't really follow the fashion on colours, I just get what I like, and that usually changes a lot, but a lot of the time it's got a bit of blue in it.
Martha :)

Martha, the cameras are usually fully automatic, adjusting the shutter speed and focus for you. The manual overide means that you can select those settings yourself. If you want a particular part if the picture in focus or not and how much light gets into the camera.
Yep DH is the dickhead you thought it might be!
I know what you mean about the introduced species. We have a problem with pigeons! "Rats of the air" I've heard them called.

:) Good pics Diana, we were wondering where you got to, I have done the same stepped back from the other thread, looks like Tracey is hijacking her own thread, and half the time I don't know what they are talking about, haha, I think they have some sort of code going on, so we elders don't understand hehe!!
Anyway you probleby have noticed that we got a few new threads, astrology, knitting and ceramics, going very slow at the moment, but we are trying to stay on the subject with each thread, it just gets too confusing otherwise.
Anyway good to see ya back,
Martha :)

It's really funny, but I too usually go with what I like, and it was funny how the colors I picked and swayed towards became the "In" thing, that never happens to me...LOL And don't think violet is not of the moment - my Better Homes and Gardens magazine I just got in the mail today, has a cover of violets and purples. Which, by the way happen to be my FAVORITE colors, lol. I love purple. My mom-in-law has a fun time shopping for me and seeing what she can find in purple. She's done quite well too!! LOL
My downstairs is a gray, with a bit of a taupe look to it every now and then, it's cool. It looks different in different light. Mostly grey though, and my purple things (vases and some candles) look really cool up against it. So much so that I have convinced hubby to paint the front doors (French style doors) a dusty deep grayish purple on the inside. He wanted some other colors, and I kept pushing for it, and he kept resisting, until he held the chips up to the existing wall that's just been painted...and liked it, lmao!!!
Yep, that's pretty close to my colors Martha! I actually really like that bedding too....lol
Yes, I have a special talent for hijacking my own threads sometimes, crazy, I know...It usually happens when the total sillies hit, vs the partial ones, lol.
D, I love the pics, I love your dog, what a sweet face!! Please give kisses and hugs for me! ;)
Ah all is right with the world again....

I'm sorry I haven't been on the boards as much, hubby is a board hog and was on leave from work for 2 weeks. Thought I was going to to lose my mind. We also took another trip to Vegas and stayed in our timeshare but in the penthouse suite this time. It was a real hoot.

OH! NO! Diane! Did all the mooses get out?
I like the idea of a photography thread, soooooooooooooooo Deeeeeeeeeeeeee?
When hubby goes away in September I'm thinking of making some changes around here. Our front fence is falling down and rotting. Someone said we can't afford a new one so, I'm going to pull the wretched thing down! And I might repaint the inside of the house to boot! A whole new colour scheme with new drapes etc. If I put stuff away on layby now I could have things paid of by then. Plus I'm putting a little money away for myself when I can to buy paint etc.
Barb, I know I got this mixed up once before, but weren't you coming downunder?

Ok Rosalie, I had to think on the "did all the mooses get out" line, LMAO!! I have a cold so I am a bit slow (this cold is a whole nother story, needless to say I am NOT happy, as I haven't had one in 2 years!!!)
I was going to post a link to my dream couch in the new Williams-Sonoma Home catalog, but I can't find it online... OH! Wait a minute! Oh crap, of course it's not on the site...but I won't give up...it's goregeous...expensive, but great, lol.
Oh hey Babs, I have that email funny from Mo that I will have to send you...and I know Martha and Rosalie will get a kick out of it too..... Now I just gotta find where I put it after she sent it to me.....

:) Tracey, what sort of couch are you buying?? i'm veryyyy interested, I'm trying to talk hubbie into getting me a new couch, two double seaters actually, Italian leather, I'm fed up with my couches at the moment, it's fully upholstered, and a pain in the bum to be honest, i'm sick of trying to get the doghair out, I just want something I can just wipe down, I realize I have to look after it with leather conditioner, but I don't mind, I really do look after my stuff, hubby argues that he wants to stop the dog jumping on top of the couch, she's a real little stickybeak, and want's to look out the window all the time, and he worries she will scratch the leather couch, that's his excuse anyway, If I bug him enough he will give in, hehe
So if you happen to find a pic what looks like the couch you want can you put up a link??
Martha :)

Leather is definitely the way to go when it comes to dog hair! I used to have a black wool woven couch, which drove me insane with a white haired Lab. Now I have leather & I love it! It's a lighter tan color, so the dog scratches don't show up (and my new pup thinks the couch is HERS!) My MIL has a dark leather couch & it's is all scratched up from her dog, but she does like to dig a nest before she lays down.
MarthaB
02-06-2006, 05:54 PM
:) Thanks for the advise Karma, I was thinking dark brown for the couch, but if the scratches show up on that too much, I may go for the lighter tan colour, my dog is white too, so you know what I am talking about.
Martha :)
Rosalie

I have a deep green leather lounge and the dog hasn't put any scratch marks on it. He's not supposed to be on it without a quilt or rug underneath him. But he thinks that even a hankerchief will do!
When there's nothing at all on the couch, he sits there looking back and forth from me to the couch. Its very funny...as soon as I throw something on it he's up and comfy!
Martha I have been very slack in conditioning the leather. I've had the couch about twelve years now and only done it once. And I'm seeing the result! There are a few little wear creases on the arms. I'd better get some good stuff and do it soon.
I might have to make some antimacassars for the arms.
We searched for years to find something that we both liked but it was worth it. I love the leather.
Trouble with pets on it is that the hair slips off and under the cushions!
MarthaB
02-06-2006, 08:15 PM
Rosalie, I can imagine that one way or the other we cannot totally escape the doghair, unless we get rid of the dog, but I love her too much so that's out of the question, I reckon some doghair under the cushions is better than having it all over the couch, I promised myself that I will condition the leather because my friend has leather too, and it has totally gone to buggeries due to lack of care, those couches are expensive and surpose to last quite a few years and I want to make sure it does, now I have to nag hubbie some more so he will get me those couches, haha I'm good at that!

LOL, Hubby and I can't quite agree either on what we want...he says a sectional, me not so sure -- so we are still looking. The one from Williams-Sonoma home is a light blue - very cool and they have it decorated with deep brown throw pillows, such a great combo!!! I do hope I can figure out a way....may just have to wait til they get there Spring 2006 catalog online...ugh.
Oh, my inlaws have leather couch and loveseat, it's gorgeous, but I slid off of it....lmao!!!
MarthaB
02-07-2006, 01:37 PM
Tracey, what is a sectional?? are those the couches you can seperate?? I love blue, but a blue couch wouldn't suit my loungeroom , I got to the stage most of my clothes were blue, haha, now I wear a lot of pink.
Didn't your in-laws tell ya not to play with their furniture, use it at a slippery slide LOL
Looks like we have to wait untill the new catalogue arrives, can't wait to have a look to see the couch you like!!
If and when I get my new couch, I can take a pic with our new digital camera and show you all.

Yep, you got it Martha. I have such a stupid living room, that you can't rearrange furniture, at all. The way it is is like the only option...it sucks. Sooooo, hubby thinks a sectional just might do the trick, as the shape of the room is long and narrow, and that would be something we could "cusotmize" to suit the room. Oh yes, it's such a pretty blue...*sigh*. I do hope they get their new catalog posted soon, so I can send a link. I just got it in the mail, so hopefully will up on their site soon....
LMAO!! Oh my, it's gorgeous furniture (they are so great a deal finding, it's amazing, for these 2, the couch and love seat, they only paid like 1600 bucks!! It's like a 4000 dollar set, if not more!! I have no idea how she does it...igh), but so darn slippery!! It cracks me up. I'll sit down and before I know it I am sliding off, so I scooch back up and it goes on and on and on..... ;) They are funny though, they buy new every couple years and have a garage full of the stuff that they have bought new to replace...Jer and I can go "shopping" any time we want. They have a cool couch and love seat out there, that were the pieces that the leather stuff replaced, but Jer doesn't want them...ugh. Go figure!!
MarthaB
02-09-2006, 12:44 PM
:) Ooh, that's too bad, can I come over and have a look,?? haha
Why don't they sell the stuff they don't need? they could put a add in the paper, or have a garage sale, they could make a few bucks, and buy more stuff haha,
I love garage sales, I have found quite a few good things over the years, you know what they say, someone's trash is someone else's treasure!!
Makes sense to me!
Martha :)

You need to sew a couple to your bum to stop slipping off the couch!

LMAO!! What a terrific idea!! I will have to make sure to pack my "grabby pants" when I go to visit them!!
Oh heck no, they rarely get rid of anything, lol. Must be nice! But works well for us, we just got a "new" chair from them last week when they came up for a visit, lmao!! So, everytime she talks about selling or getting rid of, we both say "NO!", lol!!!!
