Uterine fibroids and ovarian cysts

I was diagnosed with IC in November...Just this past week I had a pelvic ultrasound to see if there was anything going on in the pelvic area besides the IC...The nurse called today and said I had a fibroid tumor in my uterus and cysts on my one ovary. I do not know much about these and I have an appointment tomorrow at 3pm to talk to the dr. Does anyone know anything about these or had them before. Thanks for any input.

I have 4 fibroids (maybe more now) and have had lots of cysts. I think that all of us practically have these. I also thing that it is very interesting that many of us do. It tells you that the same process is going on here....now...if they could just DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!

I have all the same fun stuff along with endo, a dropped uterus on my bladder, 3+ periods a month and having a hysterectomy Feb 17th. I have had enough with all this, and I forgot to add cervical cancer scares out the ying yang for 2 years.

Fibroids are very common. I have read that they usually begin shrinking as we near menopause. I had a hysterectomy because of fibroids and developed IC after the surgery. I will always wonder what would have happened if I had waited for the fibroids to begin shrinking......
