Anyone who knows me knows that animal rights are a passionate cause. I gave up a career in pharmacology because I could not tolerate what was happening in research labs.
I hope that you will join me, this year, in protesting the continued clubbing of baby seals in Canada. The hunt will start again in late March and there is just no reason for this little ones to meet such a brutal end!

Count me in. I also just saw another cause you might be interested in Jill. Apparently some SICK people are using PUPPIES to shio herion in to our country. It was so sad, I saw a special on it. They kept opening crates with dead puppies in them and they finally figured out that the people would open up the puppies tummies and sew the packets of heroin in their stomachs!!! A woman has started an adoption/rehabilitation program for the ones who survive. I am going to look in to donating money to them too, and time. Just thought I would mention it. Above all I am a dog lover, i admit it!!

Thanks everyone! Sarah, I read up on the puppy story and, luckily, this was broken up over a year ago and just unsealed recently. They caught the bastards in the US who were going to import the puppies, saved almost all of the dogs, who are now grown and living happily in homes in Columbia. Whew! I'm glad that this isn't still happening.
Being perimenopausal, I find myself often swimming in tears these days at the slightest of sad stories.. and this one also got me go!

signed! You have no idea how much this infuriates me. I am such an animal lover.
It's terrilble that it happens, it upsets me... the only thing is... and I know that this will trouble some people... is that when there is an over population of seals... they tend to over consume the fish... which lessens the availablilty of fish for people and it will also drive up the cost of purchasing fish...
I wonder what the solution is?
