Hi all,
I have suffering through this pelvic floor therapy and ladie, it hurts like nothing I have felt before. SHe puts that electrical thing inside me and I just want to die. She told me her "normal" patients take 4 to 5 times what I can take but I just dont know how. SO I have gone very unwillingly to 6 sessions and if anything I am worse now than ever. My docs keep telling me to stick it out and I do b/c I dont want to seem like I wont try things. But how long should I try? I dont want to go anymore. To be honest it is so bad now that I have nightmares about it. I just dont know what to do anymore. I havent heard of anyone else having therapy this way? Have any of you?
Any feedback will be appreciated. MY mom husband and I kinda think my big increase in pain, anxiety and depression is related to this therapy. So it might really help me to give it up.

Hello IC Sarah, I dont understand what you are saying, I went through pt about one year ago, and it helped me soooooo much. You have stick it out though, it can take some time to get results. Matter of fact I just started my pt again since I have been in a flare since last week. Are you saying that the probe she pust inside you hurts? My pt puts a probe in the vagina and asks me to squeeze my muscles and then release, but there is no pain with that, she also does some trigger point work on the muscles inside the vagina, it is a little sore when she does it but it's not real bad. Let me know exactly what she is doing? and hopefully I can be of some help.

Sarah,

The pelvic floor excercises made me worse too. When I went to the pt, they made me do the excercises, and they would show on the screen how hard I was squeezing my pelvic muscles. Well, it also would randomly spike on the screen even when I wasn't squeezing and my pt said that was because my muscles were going into spasm. She also wanted me to do kegel excercises at home at first, but that made me worse too. I think doing the excercises would help people that have weak pelvic floor muscles, but my problem is the opposite, I am always tense down there, and that makes me spasm. My pt got my urologist to prescribe a tens unit for me and that has been the most help for me when I am really bad. Also, sometimes I just have to think about it to relax those muscles. If yours get worse when you sit down, you may want to get one of those seat cusions that they sell on this website that are hollow in the middle. It helps me also because it takes the pressure off that area. Hope this helps and hope you get to feeling better!

PT also made me flare. But they didn't put the thing in the Vagina. The TENS unit probes were placed other parts and that really helped. I am going to ask for a prescription for one at home. I find when I am really stressed, my muscles tighten up and then the pain starts. I hope I get one, I believe it is better than taking Valium or Pain Meds. Good Luck.
