I was wondering if anyone knows where to find/see pictures of a "normal" bladder (no visual signs of IC) during hydrodistention? Website? Book?
I've only been able to find pictures showing mild, moderate, and severe IC. I've always been curious about that and would like to compare my pictures to what would be considered normal. Thanks!

Darn, no responses! Maybe I should repost in a different forum?

Has anyone EVER seen pictures of a "normal" distended bladder?

I know some have posted that their docs didn't see signs of IC during hydrodistention, despite the patient experiencing IC symptoms. If so, did you get to see the pictures taken during your distention, and how do they compare to bladder pictures identified as mild IC? Here's the link to pictures taken during hydrodistention:

Thanks!

:) Well I would be interested to see some of those pictures too, I never got to see mine when I had my hydro, despite all my symptoms pointing to IC, my uro said I don't have it, I don't believe him though, he just doesn't know enough about IC and doesn't want to admit it.

Martha
Your uro must have these pictures in your file. Do you think you could get a look at them?
I requested a copy of mine before my hydro because I had previously had a laparoscopy and when I saw the pictures I was really bummed that I didn't know I needed to ask for a copy before the procedure, as they only make one print for the doctor unless you ask for your own.
I have just always wondered what effect the distention has on a normal bladder.
Thanks, Emily and Martha, for the replies!

:) Next time I see him I will ask, you wondered what the effect are on a normal bladder, I for one found that the burning stopped in my ''so called normal bladder according to my uro'' how is that?? I wonder too, my bladder only distended to 500 cc ( half a litre) under aenastesia, I have a small bladder, he said there are no signs of IC, so I get no treatment, except for pain relief from my doctor, I have urethral pain and burning as well, and urgency, blood and puss in urine , but no infection, I think he should of diagnosed me on symptoms alone,...so why do I get all these symptoms and he still refuses to diagnose me? ..the mind boggles,
Martha

It is possible to have pin point bleeding or glumerulations and be asymptomatic. I am also curious to see what a normal distended bladder looks like but I guess there are no photos available because people with healthy bladders are not willing to undergo a bladder distention in order for doctors or researchers to have such pictures for educational purposes.
