my husband has been supportive since i developed IC, but he never really understood much about how it feels to live this way. until this past week. he has been in europe since the 19th and ended up getting very ill with an intestinal virus. poor guy. he was unable to leave the hotel room for 3 days he said. he sent me an email the other morning that said it was hard to sleep when you're up to use the bathroom every 45 minutes, then he said i should know what that's like. and today he sent another email and compared his misery to what i go through with IC. i hate that he's so sick. i think what he's dealing with is probably worse than what i go through, but it's nice of him to try to relate. maybe he'll understand more when we're out somewhere and i rush off to find a bathroom. i do exasperate him when we travel. so this experience he's having might make him a little more patient with me on future trips.

i just hope he continues to get better. he said he's still feeling bad, but not as bad as earlier this week. he even broke down and found a dr. that tells me it must have been awful for him. he can't stand drs.

I am so glad it sounds like your reality has finally sunk in for him! ;) But geez, it's too bad it the poor guy has to get that ill, and away from home no less, to realize!

Hope he's feeling better soon!
Hugs,
:)

It does stink that he has to be sick himself, but will probably help him see what you go through. Is it contagious, I want to borrow him to get my hubby sick now. ;)

It's too bad that your husband had to sick to understand what you go through but somtimes that's the only for people to untderstand sickness.
