Does anyone out there know of a good/compassionate URO in the Nashville Area. I have been seeing one for about 1 1/2 but am finding she is not eager to help with any pain management. Last week I was in a terrible Flare, do to Physical Therapy for Pelvic Floor D. and her office called me in Nyprosm (?), which did nothing other than upset my stomach. Then Mon. called in Urised, still nothing. Today I find myself dealing with this again. Time for a New URO.

Hi, I hope you are feeling better. I go to Vanderbilt Urology group at the Cool Springs office and started out seeing Dr. Jarniagan I really like him because after about 15 years of suffering he finally DX'd me and let me know that I was not crazy, I see one of his associates now but they are good. Sometimes I don't know if any of them understand just how much pain we are in when we have flares. I take 25mg to 50mg of Atarax and 10mg of Elival at night and I pretty much keep my IC under control with diet and lots of water. When I do flare up I drink 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda in water and that will help the burning and pain you can do this a couple times a day if you do not have high blood pressure. It took a lot to get to where I can manage my pain and not stay in a major flare without any pain meds. the Drs. at Vanderbilt Cool Springs do not like to use pain meds, but they will listen and try to help you find what works best. Good luck find a new Dr.
