I just started taking this 2 days ago and have noticed a very dry mouth/lips and thirst that never goes away, even with water. Does anyone else notice this? I am hoping it is just an early effect until i get used to taking this supplement (6 a day!). Thanks for the insight.

You know, you may have hit on something. I've been thirsty for a long time due to taking the hydroxyzine but there are days when I could drink the ocean and still be thirsty, dry mouth, lips hurt. Hmmm, I wonder if anyone else has this too. I've been taking 4 a day now for a year. Will be interesting to see if anyone else responses to this.
I have dry mouth from medications as well. Please watch out for dental problems, keep up on brushing teeth and taking care of them at this time. We all don't need one more medical problem with a bill attached...

I have not heard of this side-effect associated with CystoProtek. I've spoken to many IC patients that take CystoProtek and the most common side-effect is "burping up" the taste of the pill; which usually goes away when you freeze the capsules.
Have you started any other medication or dietary supplement at the same time? If not, call the company 1 800 254 6668 and ask if others have reported this side-effect.
Make sure that you keep yourself hydrated; at least a sip of water every 5 minutes.
I suggest that you consult with your healthcare provider if you believe that the information above may be helpful; your healthcare provider will determine the appropriate treatment regimen for you.

I've been taking this for about three weeks. I too notice thirst (and this is the only med I am taking) but what I really notice is dry eyes. I think it is helping me though, so it's worth it.
