Have any of you been diagnosed with Glossdynia? My tongue is about to drive me crazy it is burning so much. I have been dealing with this for well over a year. I moderate a small online IC support group and there a couple of us that have it and have not really find relief. I use Elavil and Topamax for it and also use them for IC and Vulvodynia, yeah and I use Cymbalta. It makes it hard to eat and drink it is always there just like the burning crotch I dealt with for years. Oh well just curious of any of you had this also?

Have you tried Biotene toothpaste and mouthwash? That helped me.

I use Biotene mouth wash and tried the tooth paste, but found it so thin it was hard for me to brush with. I do have dry mouth because of my many medications. Thanks for your reply.

:) Hi, I had a burning tongue all last week, and it was driving me nuts, night time seemed to be worse, I googled the word'' burning tongue'' and found that it's pretty common, and thankfully not related to cancer or anything, my tongue has gone back to normal again without any meds, but I know sooner or later it will come back again, gggrrr
Martha :)
Ps I also have some inflamation on the left corner of my mouth, on the outside, is that related to the burning tongue?? because I got it at the same time.
You might look of Burning Mouth Syndrome on the Internet. My mom had it for a decade or so and it went away. It happens sometimes after dental work. Women usually get it. Some people things it has to do with the oral nerves. It was miserable for my Mom.
Maybe yours will just go away eventually. Sometimes I think IC can cause a lot of stress on the body and leave it open to other problems.

I have had a burning tongue in the past. It comes and goes and has always puzzled me. I could never figure out what it was related to. I went through a series of tests a few years ago and nothing was found. Now I find it interesting that my tongue has not burned in over a year, but I am having more IC pain, including burning. I am flaring more often now. Its as if my body becomes inflamed in only one area at a time.
