Hey everybody-
I am having my first hydro/cysto tomorrow-scared that I will be miserable afterwards, and scared that it won't help. But after a year of putting it off by not going to a uro, I guess it is time. I'll let you know how it goes.

It's normal to be scared, especially before your first one, but afterwards you will say to yourself, "oh, that was so easy!"

Some people get absolutely wonderful, long remissions after a cysto/hydro. Won't it be wonderful, if a week from now, you are completely free of symptoms?

It is true that we often have increased symptoms for a day or two after a hydro. I usually have some burning upon urination the first time or two I urinate afterwards. But nothing real bad, really not even as bad as UTI burning, IMO.

My first hydro/cysto, they didn't give me any painkillers afterwards - and to be honest I didn't feel I needed them.

But your doctors will probably prescribe them, just in case. Better to have them and not need them.

Good luck, and I'm sure everything will go smoothly! And won't it be nice to have a certain diagnosis, and then a plan of action to help you feel better? Tomorrow is your start down the healing path - your first steps on the road to getting better!
