Question I hope to have answered?

Hello everyone. I just had a quick questiion for whoever could answer me. In all, I am on 50mg of Diclofenac with meals, 10mg of Sanctura twice a day, 150mg of Wellbutrin twice a day, 5mg twice a day and 10mg at night of Flexeril, 50mg of Norpramine twice a day, 100mg of Doxycycline twice a day, and 20mg of Celexa once a day. My question is, does any one else have dry mouth, bad taste, shakieness, dizziness, and slightly blurry farsighted vision (which I think is from the muscle relaxers I am taking)? These are the things I am experiencing. Does anyone know what to do? This is the first time I have ever been on most of these meds, since I am new to this disease. Also, is this considered a disability, or what is it? And how do I get a bathroom access card and handicaped paking sticker. I was sitting there in my car, had to go really badly, and the only place around was a gas station, but there were no parking spaces except the handicap parking space. Before I didn't think I would need it, but now, I am rethinking that discison. How do I go about getting one, Any help would be geratly appreciated. Thanks for all the help so far. --Heather

You might take a list of your medications to your pharmacist and ask that he/she look them up and let you know if any of them cause the side effects you are experiencing.

I can answer the questions about the restroom access card (scroll to the top of this page and click on ICN Shop and you will find ordering information) --- and the handicap parking sticker is available through your state's motor vehicles department. In most states you need to pick up an application from them, then complete it and take it to your doctor for verification that you qualify. I think the regulations differ slightly from state to state. I picked up an application for Oregon, but one of the qualifications is that it is difficult to walk 200 feet, I couldn't be honest and sign that statement so I didn't apply.

Of the meds you're are taking, I'm taking Sanctura (which has caused dry mouth). Ditropan XL caused jitteryness, medicine head and plummeted my blood sugar level, so they gave me Sanctura instead. Flexeril mostly causes drowsiness, but can also cause jitteryness and dry mouth. Did one doc prescribe ALL those meds at once? You'd think he would try one and keep adding or subtracting to it as it worked or didn't work. I agree -- you need to either ask your doc about what meds affect each other or the pharmacist. The urologist I saw prescribed me the flexril, and the sanctura. my regular doc prescribed some, and the ER prescribed the others. I think I will ask the pharmacist what to do. I also wanted to know if this is a disability, like is written on the website, or what is it called? Thanks--Heather

Heather, I would immediately take the list of meds you are taking to your pharmacist to ask if there are any drug interactions. Also, I would let the person who is your primary doctor for this problem (the uro most likely) know all the meds you were prescribed. I thought it was an awful lot of meds - some with similar drug reactions. Good luck.

I would think taking all those meds might have you in the state you are in.. check on side affects and see if they all can be taken togeather, like rose said.
IC is a disease, and it can be disabling.

I Took Sanctura And Hated It. My Mouth Got So Dry. For Stuff Like That I Would Recomend Biotine, Wash, And Tooth Paste. It Will Help With Some Of The Soreness, And Dryness. It Is Funny That You Say That About Having To Go To The Bathroom. I Had To Go And Return Something At This Mall(which I Total Hate), Anyways It Was After X-mas And I All Of A Sudden Had To Go And I Could Not Find A Spot Anywhere, After About 15 Minutes I Got One. I Took A Deep Breath, And Told My Kids To Get Out. I Started To Walk A Bit And Then Siad To Them Quick Get Back In The Car, I Swear I Thought I Was Going To Wet Myself, I Have A Coffee Can In My Car Just In Case, But It Was During The Day, My 13 Year Old Says Please Mom Don't. I Felt So Bad.so I Am Yelling Get Out Of The Car.i Ran Like Hell!!!! You Think About It Now And It Is Somewhat Funny. Wasn't Then...............i To Am Thinking About Trying For Somehting. My Loving Boss Of Ten Years Has Asked Me To Cut My Hours.

Hello Themoonandbach, I think you are taking a lot of meds and having side effects. I'm surprised your doctor doesn't have you on Elmiron. Are you taking Doxycycline for an infection? I would definitely suggest you speak to your uro and let him know you are taking all those meds. I have IC for many many years and have never been prescribed most of the meds you are on. I'm sure you'll feel better when your meds are reduced.
