I'm wondering if there is such a thing as an IC soothing food/drink. Has anyone experienced relief from something they ate or drank?

For me, anything that settles my stomach, settles my bladder. My symptoms are frequency and urgency, so that may not be true for others. Bland foods like potatoes, potato bread, rice or rice cereal, and turkey lunch meat work well for me when my stomach is upset. Wish I could be more help to you. Praying that you find something that will help your IC. Blessings to you and yours!
Baking soda in water if bladder is burning. Blueberry juice in water has stopped mini-flares. (Can't figure that one out at all!)

Some people (not me) have posted about Almond milk and artichokes!
I know a lot of people drink marshmallow root hot tea. I bought some a while back and it seemed to help sooth my bladder when I had a little pain. Nothing helps when I am in horrible pain, but everyone's different. I would suggest to do some research before you try the tea. There is a lot of info about it on these boards the subject is "Alternative Therapies". It's always good to research anything and learn the positives and negatives before trying it.
One of the moderators, Katrina put this quote in, I thought it may help you:
Quote:
Marshmallow Root:
It is believed that marshmallow root tea provides a soothing coating to the bladder because of the mucilage found in the plant.
Scientific Name: Althaea officinalis
Approved by Commission E: Yes
Description: The medicinal parts of the plant are mallow flowers, leaves, syrups and roots. However, the herbal supplement is made from the dried root and the dried leaves.
Actions & Pharmacology: Marshmallow root relieves local irritation, inhibits mucocilary activity, functions as an anti-inflammatory, good for bladder infections and is an immune stimulant.
General Precautions:There are no general precautions or side effects if the drug is used as per manufactures labeling on required dosages.
Drug Interactions: If other drugs are taken simultaneously the absorption of the other drugs may be delayed.
How Supplied: Marshmallow root can be purchased in capsules, tablets (coated and uncoated), as an extract, as a tea and in powder form.

I love marshmallow root. I've started taking it twice a day (the Solaray brand, in capsules), and I've noticed quite an improvement. I've broadened my diet to include some tomatoes and regular coffees, and it still seems to be fine.
Also, try milk during a flare. I also find that if I have milk with a meal with something acidic, it seems to counteract the acidity some way...
