Hi all,
I have been in a bad flare for about two weeks and had bought cystoprotek a couple of months ago to try if the elmiron didn't work. The elmiron has been working but I can't seem to shake this flare. I tried the cystoprotek two days ago and today have major pelvic pain and frequency when yesterday I felt better, go figure. I didn't know if this was due to something I ate yesterday or if it was b/c I had started taking the cystoprotek. Has anyone experienced more pressure and frequency when taking the CP?

I did. I always get that increased frequency with quercitin products. I hate it because I know they are good for me. When I get better and better I will re-try the Cystoprotek again. Perhaps is was just a concidence? Give it another try and see what happens...

I have taken Cystoprotek for three months and it has helped me a lot. I have not noticed more frequency, but I am also on Enablex which helps with that.
Hope you ladies find something that works for you.
Hugs,
sammie

I started cystoprotek yesterday and have the same problem - hope it's just my body getting used to it

It is definitely the Cystoprotek that is causing the added pain and pressure and frequency. Sigh. Guess I will have to send it back. Oh well. Thank you for your help!

I am so sorry that it did not work out for you, sbelle. I had the same problem. i was on it for 2 months because I could not let myself believe that it was causing my symptoms to get worse. I stopped and 3 days later felt better. That was in the summer and I never sent it back because I cling to the hope that as I am getting better and better with Elmiron these days, that one day I will be able to stop Elmiron and tolerate the Cystoprotek again with no problems.

The thing that I don't understand is on the new interview with Dr. Theo he says that NOONE has ever sent the Cystoprotek back. I just cannot believe that, since there have been quite a few on the boards who have been unable to take it. Is everyone just holding on to theirs like me or did he not tell the truth?

just to let you know when I had cystistat instills (in cystoprotek as well) my frequency would increase for the first 2 weeks then I started to see effects. This happened every month. I don't know the scientific explanation behind it but maybe the mast cells etc?

sweetangel, did the frequency ever get better with your instills?
I think I am going to send it back and be the "first" to do so, MD. Thank you both for sharing! :)
Oh by the way, I can't send mine back, you have to within four months, as it says on their website, I ordered mine right at 4 months ago, so that maybe why people don't return it. Sheesh. Thank you both!!!!! Maybe I will try this again sometime, and see if it works, guess I will have to now. :) LOL.

sbelle -yes my frequency improved a lot but had to stop them due to UTIs from the instill itself.

anyone else had this?
I have now recovered from my UTI and trying it again - upped the dosage slowly - only took 3 tablets and am having urethral spasms and more frequency. Really hoped it would work! :help:
